So I'm taking World Religions class (GREAT CLASS BTW!) and my professor claims to be a Christian and a retired pastor, but he says that all paths (referring to the world's religions) lead to God. He makes some fairly compelling evidence that each religion has a lot in common with one-another and they all stumble upon the same themes. I talked to my Dad (who was baptized as a Christian on the same day as I) about the class and mentioned that my teacher seemed to be a Universalist, saying that all paths lead to God. His response was "well...all paths DO lead to God". I was really shocked. Is this a common belief even among Christians? It has always been my belief that only Christianity leads to God and that all other religions (except pre-Christian Judaism) were created by demons.
Is my belief uncommon??
