27. Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27)

So the pure way to serve God is, practice righteous, and cover our selves, so that the wold do not contaminate our values, like we may see that has already happen in worlds christianity, and that why the love is shallow, and christians are not holy and pure, and you keep sinning, and finding a way for you sinful life.

This is a call for true repentance, in the Lord Jesus Christ.

From the way you are speaking, I take it that you are sinless somehow?

Christians are holy and righteous not because of ourselves, but because we have been declared such through the blood of Jesus.

Please see Hebrews 10:10, 14, 13:12 and Romans 3:22.

That's why we are commanded to "put on" Christ. (Romans 13:14)

And Jesus went around preaching the GOOD NEWS OF THE KINGDOM.

Budman is continuing that word from His posting. The Good News! What Christ has done for us!

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

If one has been cleansed of something does not that mean they have less of it?

If one has been cleansed from ALL of something does that not mean they are no longer dirtied by any of it at all?

I meant sinless through his own power. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Do you think the "washing" referred to in the following text leaves one filthy still?

Heb 10:19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Heb 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;
Heb 10:21 And having an high priest over the house of God;
Heb 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Does the washing in the following passage leave one filthy?

Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Is the righteousness of the law fulfilled in you when you WALK after the Spirit?

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Does WALKING IN THE LIGHT have anything to do with WALKING AFTER THE SPIRIT?

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

It means that in the eyes of the Father, we are covered by the righteousness of Christ and by His blood which has cleansed our spirits from sin. When the Father looks at us, He sees only the purity and sinlessness of Christ. GOOD NEWS.

Yet, we are still in our flesh which wars against our spirit (of purity), and we draw on the power of the Holy Spirit within us to avoid hurting others and ourselves by sinning. And we work on not giving in to the flesh so that only Christ can be more and more expressed to others through us. And we gain an inner peace and calm.

But we don't ever have to worry that our sins stand between ourselves and God any more. Or that our sins will keep us from eternal life. GOOD NEWS.

Um, I answered you in my last post, friend.

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

I meant sinless through his own power. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Yet you espouse the rhetoric of...

I would simply answer:

"If we say we are without sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." (1 John 1:8)

Even Paul called himself the "chief" of sinners. And he wasn't speaking in past tense. (1 Timothy 1:15)

As it pertains to my questions to you in response to your response to the OP, you object to the notion of being "sin less." Thus you don't believe the blood actually cleanses you of all sin, rather you must think it just deals with the condemnation as it relates to ongoing filthiness as well as past filthiness.

Anyone who claims that 1Joh 1:8 is teaching that one remains sinful obviously rejects the notion of being cleansed from such a state, which it seems is the reason why you had issue with the OP in this thread.

Is Scripture not sincere?

Is Budman ignoring what I wrote?

Those who defend ongoing wickedness in Christians will always refuse to discuss the cleansing of all sin as it pertains to having the righteousness of the law fulfilled in us. In other words the following words of Paul are ignored...

1Ti 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

A pure heart, a good conscience and faith unfeigned is the opposite of an evil heart, an evil conscience, and unfaithfulness.

Sinning against God is unfaithfulness. Is it not possible to be faithful to God? Is it not possible to have been cleansed of ALL sin like 1Joh 1:7 states?

Not at all. I'm merely pointing out that Scripture tells us we are still sinners, yet declared sinless through the blood of Christ alone. It is a foreign righteousness, given freely through grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone.

Jude 1:23
And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Revelation 3:4
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

What is this post saying?

Does it not pertain to WALKING IN THE LIGHT AS HE IS IN THE LIGHT and ABSTAINING FROM ALL FORMS OF EVIL?

I think it is clearly so.

What kind of mind would negate such sentiment with an allusion to something like "oh are you one of those, one of those who claim to have been cleansed of all sin and therefore WALK in righteousness with a pure heart, blameless before God"?

Which is more evil?

1. To contend for righteousness, purity, faithfulness through abiding in the Spirit of life in Jesus Christ.

2. To contend against such a thing and argue in favour of ongoing wickedness but a "trust in Jesus" who already did everything for you.

Which leads me to ask: Have you sinned today? How about yesterday? Do you expect to sin tomorrow?

How many sins make you wicked in God's sight?

Just one.

Not at all. I'm merely pointing out that Scripture tells us we are still sinners, yet declared sinless through the blood of Christ alone. It is a foreign righteousness, given freely through grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone.

So the salvation of God that you believe in is merely a CLOAK for wickedness.

God doesn't actually purify your heart through the word, rather He gives you a "foreign righteousness" which serves as a CLOAK for "we are still sinners" so long as you "believe that."

Honestly, what a pitiful and silly religion.

The Christianity I believe is actually has the power of God EFFECTUALLY and MANIFESTLY cleansing our hearts where the righteousness is not foreign but a MANIFEST REALITY which we experience whereby we go and sin no more like Jesus commanded. It is not something wrought by ourselves upon ourselves, rather it is something wrought by the power of God when we submit to His influence by faith.

Which leads me to ask: Have you sinned today? How about yesterday? Do you expect to sin tomorrow?

How many sins make you wicked in God's sight?

Just one.

No I have not sinned today and I do not intend to either. It is possible for me to sin but such a thing is very distasteful and is something I do not want to do.

Now the sin in question here is REBELLION to God, I am not alluding to making a misjudgement in ignorance. The context of sin I am speaking of is as it relates to our hearts. A clean and pure heart does not produce ill towards others, and that is why we don't lie, cheat, steal, engage in idolatry, and is why we walk circumspect of our conduct and abstain from all forms of evil.

So whilst I may misjudge something and act in a wrong manner as it relates to that misjudgement, willful rebellion is out of the question.

Do you make such a distinction with the "we are still sinners" you are speaking about?

What kind of sin are you talking about? A refusal to abstain from known evil? Is that what you mean by "we are still sinners"?

God doesn't actually purify your heart through the word, rather He gives you a "foreign righteousness" which serves as a CLOAK for "we are still sinners" so long as you "believe that."

My friend, I must be off to get ready for work, but allow me to leave you with a verse I posted earlier. Paul wrote:

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief." (1 Timothy 1:15)

Notice he said "I am" not "I was". This, of course, was written after his conversion to Christ.

Please bear that in mind.

Have a blessed day.

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
