My ex girlfriend called me late last night on my cell. I didn't hear it ring, all I heard was a chime indicating I had a new text message. I checked it, it's a text saying I had a missed call.
So I texted her, asked if she was safe, and asked if she was doing well. Both answers I can rest comfortably with. And that was it. A relationship spent fighting over the most miniscule agreements known to man, and an ending with as much communication as "Why are you even talking to me? Are you alright?"
This woman drove me insane at many times. There were times just conversing over the phone made me wish she was dead. (And I'm not a sinister guy) I loved her immensely. I shared a compassion for what I believed to be her mental illness. Someone who seemed perfectly normal on a good day, and made you question the human mind the very next.
I had never been physically abused by girlfriend in my entire life until I had met this girl. I had once grabbed her by the wrist and forced her to walk with me. The pit of my abuse, but nonetheless, my inner demon released. I have been determined my whole life to never put up with a man who beat a woman, and I was on the edge of doing so myself.
Staying with a woman who you're extremely attracted to, but who doesn't know the difference between right and wrong, is a major issue. Being controlling and carefree. A woman that I could ONLY surrender to God, as my ability to help and support gone completely helpless.
I don't mean to come off wrong here. I'm certain it's never wrong to ask the Lord for help, but when you surrender someone to him because you just can't deal with the issues any longer, is generally a good sign that person should stay in the Lord's care and away from yours.
It is coincidental. I had been thinking of this woman off and on for several weeks. (We stopped dating about 3 months ago) I would love to have this woman in my life as just a friend. She really does have some inner beauty when she isn't deceiving you for your money. I know there is a great heart in there somewhere, and I'd be more than willing to befriend that heart again.
I guess what I'm really writing is that I don't want to fall into the same mistakes as before.
