I don't know it all smells bad.The timing is awful impeccable, and also really convenient, considering the proposals at hand,and then again maybe a whole bunch of odd coincidences just sprang up at a odd time idk.

No, you smell a conspiracy, and you would be right. I mean come on, we have a shooting in a movie theater before the 2012 elections, as well as one in an Ohio mall (now that one there was no conspiracy as it was stopped by a concealed carry holder - the assailant blew his brains out when he saw a gun pointed at him).

Then we get a shooting in a grade school where witnesses report multiple assailants and police even look for said assailants until the evidence trail went cold (and these assailants might have been helped to escape by our corrupt government).

And then we get a shooting at a Navy Yard after Joe "both barrels" Biden, Diane "round em up" Feinstein, Nancy "I run unopposed" Pelosi, and Barack "fake shotgun photo op" Obama lose their precious gun bills. Again, initial reports of multiple assailants and then quickly afterwards we hear "no, there was only one."

This last one at the basketball court really does sound like simple regular old "banging" to me though. But hey, we have a gang problem because we have a drug problem (selling drugs pays better than some highly educated jobs), an education problem (you can't even say do you want fries with that if you can't string together a sentence in English and make change), we have a welfare problem (it pays more than mcdonalds in some cases), and we have a job problem (there are no jobs left where unskilled labor can learn to bolt radiators on cars).

My understanding of voting is that by voting, you actually consent to the policies of the party that wins the vote. By not voting, you are actually reserving your consent (i.e. it is not automatically given, even to the party that wins the vote, as you didn't consent). I'm not really sure how this works in practice, 'cause I've been told 'merica is s'posed to be a republic, so to undermine the constitution should still be illegal, with voter support or no...

Voting is also peculiar the Bush Jr election, was recounted and I never understood his low popularity rating, and then his winning.Idk,some things are just strange, but his family has a ton of money and is in politics and daddy is a former president so go figure.But all that isn't for this post.

The cheating part would include what Letti's talking about a little: influence and affluence. They both bring power. If you have a lot of media coverage this will influence the election in your favor, especially in America's two-party system. If there were two Republican candidates, one got partial coverage and the other got full coverage and there was one Democratic candidate who got full coverage, then guess who's going to win the election? The Democrat. Because the media coverage was divided among the Republicans, which confuses voters as to who has the greatest chance of winning. And the current mindset of many Americans is to vote for the candidate that you think will win and is the lesser evil instead of voting for the candidate you want. Plus if any of the candidates are affluent they can pay for even more advertisements (more media coverage). So it's a broken system.

But better than all of this, I'd get a computer to count all the votes, and make sure the programmers were all loyal henchmen on my payroll. Obviously, the advertising and stuff would still be used so everyone knew who I was, but who would care if the advertising swayed even one vote? The advertising would only be important so people thought that it had worked - whichever way they voted wouldn't matter, because I'd be the one doing the counting.

They've actually done all of those things.

In fact, there have even been instances of dead people voting. Don't ask me how they got to the polling center, but they voted when legally dead.

I have actually been shot at. They were not aware of my political affiliation though.

Actually a 10 million dollar pre-study commissined by the Obama administration via executive order, which was done by the CDC (anti gun) showed that mass shootings are a remarkably small part of overall gun deaths. Furthermore, for 300,000 offensive uses of firearms there were 500,000 to 3 million defensive uses.

It sounds like a net positive. You have a better chance of dying in a car accident, and it seems like as crazy as it sounds, guns might prevent crimes more than they facilitate them.


As for Christ advocating gun control. Christ was remarkably silent about gun control. In fact He told his apostles to go out and buy swords. Yes, we are to turn the other cheek, but apparently He never broke the biblical tradition of the right to self defense.

I never saw how the NIV was different to the other versions - they sounded like they were all saying the same to me (thief dies breaking in at night - thief to blame - no guilt to defender. Thief dies breaking in during the day - further investigation warranted as it may have been murder).

Either way, I agree with you. The sword of bible times is the AK47 of today (or maybe something smaller).

The good news is that the citizens' votes don't really count. Their votes only count when electing their representatives - not the President. It'd be harder to pull new electoral college members out of one's hat.

Jesus didn't use parables that contained false principles contrary to God's will. Jesus used parables that conformed to God's laws. Jesus parables contain the truth of God's laws. All of them do. Upon this foundation of truth, Jesus was able to say after the conclusion of this protector-of-his-house parable, "Be ye ready also." (verse 40, emphasis added).

This command as applied in the spiritual realm necessarily means that the head of the house be ready against the invader in the physical realm. If that were not a truth, then Jesus would have been likewise incorrect in the spiritual application.

Consider how in Esther 8 the people's (e.g. Jews in this case) human right to take arms and protect themselves when threatened with murder.

Naturally, the ability to protect oneself, family and neighbor from an aggressor is not limited only to those individual robbers, rapists and murderers among society who singularly seek to harm another. Such a God-given right and duty of defense extends especially to tyrants that use their position of public trust and the power of government to betray the trust of the public and destroy those whom he is charged to protect.
