I seriously doubt Obama is Christian - but then Romney wasn't either. While I like Obama's policies on a number of issues - welfare and healthcare (if poorly implemented) - His policies on Abortion are poor and from what I've read the drop in abortions is mainly due to the increased use of contraceptives.
 
Meh I am of a so-so opinion of Obama. Not the best President, but certainly not the worst. I don't think he's the antichrist or nothing, that's just absurd, but I also don't think he is the savior as Oprah alleged lol. All Presidents have duty to their office and being President ain't exactly the easiest job, nor do they have full and total power over the government (in fact I am of the opinion most the power lies with Congress, but even then there are still several other centres of power in the American system.)

Either way though, this is pretty awesome news for all the American people and the whole society should be commended for getting the abortion rate to its lowest since the 1970s. Thanks for sharing this! Whether you're pro-life or pro-choice I think we can all agree that the fact there are less abortions and less need for abortions is a good thing for our society.
 
I think the decline is actually because of the morning after pill, moreso than education, which the article alludes to, but that's just me. With the morning after pill, the abortion happens in the privacy of one's home and there is no documentation, so truthfully, we have just learned to hide our abortion numbers.

Leading up to the period studied was a wave of new anti-abortion legislation passed in the Republican controlled house; however, the drop in abortions is primarily linked to a steep national decline in overall pregnancy and birth rates the result of much greater contraceptive use during the period of the study as more women and couples began using highly effective long-acting reversible contraceptive methods and did so in a recession that led many women and couples to want to avoid or delay pregnancy and childbearing.

It's important to note that while the overall abortion rate declined, the proportion of abortions entailing early medication procedures continued to increase. According to Guttmacher, about 239,400 abortions of this type were performed in 2011, representing 23 percent of all non-hospital abortions, an increase from 17 percent in 2008.

As usual, you didn't do your research and drew the wrong conclusion as a result.

Show me the policies this president supports that led to this supposed drop? As far as I know this president is a full supporter of even late term abortions, wants the government to pay for them and has no problem with abortion on demand.

It is in absolute ignorance that anyone could equate Obamacare with any concern for health care in this country. It has accomplished the exact opposite, raising costs and limiting benefits. It was designed....let me be very clear here...it was DESIGNED to do EXACTLY this!!!!!

To even suggest that Obamacare was implemented with any concern over health care issues is delusional, opposite of the facts that our president with forethought AND malice lied about what the bill was, even after it passed and was right there before our eyes!!!!!

The bill said one thing. The president said the exact opposite...the same bill with HIS NAME ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All I can say is if you believe this horrible legislation has any merit or good intention, that you should never vote again, comment on american politics or make any definitive political statement ever again....ever.

I know the liberals will never understand this, but if you take pregnancy away, which contraceptives cannot do 100% and abstinence does, there are still spiritual, moral and physical consequences for promiscuity and fornication.

Have you considered that maybe the message that abortion is murder is finally hitting home and people are beginning to realize that everything goes sex does not excuse murdering a baby?

( I know quite a stretch but its amazing that if something good actually occurs, as rare as it is, during Obama's administration it must be Obama? )

Being of much interest to history, especially 20th Century History it would seem Hitler was very much into occultism and that sort of thing. Much of his actions, agendas, and inner circle can be traced back to various occult religions, New Age philosophy (for his time New age), and quite dark things indeed. I mean come on, the whole Aryan thing is a dead give away, much less his inner circle being members of Thule. Even their symbols, such as the swastika are highly connected to black magic and the occult.

In my study of Obama, I think Obama believes himself to be a Christian. Have understanding though! President Obama has to be the leader of a multitude of peoples, and we all know Americans are very varied. Obama might not be a perfect Christian, but all indications seem to point to him at least wanting to be a Christian. Remember though, leaders of nations have responsibilities and constraints put on them by the nation's system, international obligations, the political party they are a part of, and by the people themselves. Additionally Obama seems to be very concerned about his legacy as the first black President, and thus he must be mindful of that.

Now I am not saying you must agree with all his policies (I don't agree with all of them, but some are genuinely decent policy), nor am I saying all his policies are Christian, but remember Obama does not write the laws, maybe you should take your gripe to Congress of which there are many snakes of both parties therein whom have clung to power far longer than Obama's political career. I don't think Obama has any sort of evil agenda as some people think, rather I think Obama is a little too idealistic. I think he means well, such as with the Obamacare, helping people get healthcare is a Christian idea, but the way he did it was idealistic, not realistic. Therefore we can see where his idealism has failed, but I think he genuinely does want to help the nation.

And I did not vote for Obama for President, nor did I vote for Mitt or McCain. Like it or not President Obama is the President. And like I said, President isn't the most powerful job in the nation, maybe you should investigate these congressmen and senators whom have agendas and voting records that ought to make your flesh crawl.

Teaching children that engaging in immoral sexual behaviors and having abortions won't negatively affect them, change their personalities and their lives is reprehensible but that's increasingly what we see occurring today.

Galatians 6:7-8 (NIV) tells us: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life."

The deception is that we can sin without reaping, without negative consequence.

The deception is accomplished by minimizing and hiding the reality of the horrendous costs of our actions which can affect us mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically altering even our personalities in negative ways. God is not mocked.

There is an old and true saying: “Sin always takes you farther than you want to go, keeps you longer than you want to stay, and costs you more than you are willing to pay.” Read 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.

Through Paul, God is warning us not to be deceived into thinking that sin does not have disastrous consequences.

The gospel of Nautilus may be that it's fine to engage in sexual immorality with other people as long as you do so with "smart contraceptive use" but the gospel of God says different.
