i understand what you are pointing at, however, how can us talking about this problem, do anything to solve this.
again i want nothing to do with race or hate. i point at stats, because the mps or senetors will read a report about policing in different areas etc. and all they look at stats or what i call a pie chart. so is government out of touch with life on the streets, when the police force are trying to do there jobs. so if government is out of touch, then how can we bring more awareness or to the three sides ie government, police, an usa citizens( ie crooks or crime) to stop shooting at each other.
i hear that song in the disney film in my head, when i see an elephant fly,lol ie hope for the next generation to see the folly of passed generations etc

I fail to see what if any significance your discussing this subject could possibly be to you or those of us here living in the United Sates. As you have said you are from the UK. You can offer nothing that might even remotely correct our situation here. All I have read from your posts are negative comments as well as miss using bogus statics offered by a media source, and we all know the media never lies, embellishes or uses rumors and innuendos when preparing their articles.

You blast p rehbein for posting what you call an unfounded opinion as slanderous, yet your posts are exactly the same. So I can only surmise that your opinion is slanderous as well, since your opinion is based on flawed information. As a well known actor once said "If you can't respect your elders, then maybe you should respect tour betters."

... deny it's relevance with that comment. Yes, I see the little flag. So now you also deny Australia's connection to Europe through the colonization of the continent by Great Britain? And as AgeofKnowledge said, how was that great empire where "the sun never sets" built? Lottery? Luck of the draw?

Let us also not forget that the "Colonization" of Australia began as a penal colony for Great Britten. So based on how your opinions are based concerning this country, I guess all who live in Australia are criminals in some form or another!

Getting back to the actual topic of this thread though,

Killed By Police - 2014 (1104) lists some 1,100 "innocent until proven guilty" folk killed by U.S. police in 2014.
Actually about three every day - not two as stated in the thread title.

In 2013, the Australian Institute of Criminology released a
report detailing fatal police shootings between 1989 and 2011. In that period, police fatally shot 105 people.
http://theconversation.com/shoot-to-kill-the-use-of-lethal-force-by-police-in-australia-34578

OK, I acknowledge that the American figure is for 2014 and the Australian statistics are for 1989-2011. (22 years)
Most recent I could find with limited time - but I doubt if the incidence has changed much.

So it seems we're looking at about 5 per year in Aus and 1100 per year in the U.S.
But your population is only about 15 times ours.
So unless something is drastically wrong, your rate should be some 15 X 5=75.

Not 1100 !

Nothing to do with the whole gun culture though. Course not.

So if living is so great in Australia, why is any of our problems a concern to you. In addition, what course of action have you proposed to rectify what is occurring here. So far I have read nothing constructive from you, just nay saying, and bad mouthing people that do live here, when they are trying to explain their point of view.

That pretty much disqualifies you from the discussion, since everything is a spiritual issue with a spiritual solution. It's a Christian chat forum. With that attitude, the question is, why do you come here? What are you looking for?

If it is Jesus, you will find Him, but you must stop resisting Him. If not, your membership here is rather pointless.

He is here because he is Anti-United States, since we are so uncivilized, and Australia is so much better. Must have a memory lapse, forgotten how the aborigines were treated by his countrymen. He must live under a bridge somewhere with the rest of the trolls.

Good teachings don't stay in that environment. They don't have to. They can get better paying jobs in suburban districts. The inner city schools are left with the dregs of the profession, or first-year teachers who don't know what they've let themselves in for by signing that inner city contract. Sounds harsh, I know, but those are the facts.

And why do you think there were openings for them to fill?

You've pretty much made my case for me so far.

And if you did have to deal with those horrific conditions, you would move on, because you can, right?

Which is why they can't keep good teachers there to teach them.

My point was that these schools are so chaotic and out of control that even the best teachers will be set up for failure. It's difficult for employees to succeed in a dysfunctional and violent environment. At least cops (for now) are given guns to protect themselves. This controversy concerning police officers was easy to predict if you saw what was going on in the inner city school system. There was a case just recently where a teacher was punched repeatedly in the face by a student and then the principal bullied the teacher not to press charges and told her that it was her fault due to her "white privilege". Inner city school students are used to being allowed to run rough shod over their teachers and not having any consequences for acting up in class. A student will punch a teacher in the face and then be back in that teacher's class ten minutes later, with no punishment or consequence. It's no surprise that this attitude has started to bleed over to other authority figures, like police officers. Pretty soon police officers' hands will be tied just as much as teachers are, and as in the schools chaos will be the outcome.

opinion vary, your free to think, what you want. pity you your post ,make no sense,in the uk, feel free to forward your opinion to the usa, people, police, and government. etc. and if p rehbeien has a problem with my post, he can say it on the forum.

as for the rest of your opinion , when i need a lesson on manners, please feel free to bring proof to the forum topic, not a rant, speculation needs proof. or it is classed as slander. just like your post, a rant with no proof.

If one ever wants to start an active thread, just mention gun-deaths or gun-control if there are Yanks around.
They'll come out of the woodwork to defend the indefensible because it is a sick, gun-crazy society for whom violence is endemic.

Sure, there are millions of 'gunless', peace-loving Americans.
But somehow they do not seem to prevail.

The National Rifle Association has enormous political clout and gun-lovers are passionate about their 'right to bear arms'.

U.S. gun deaths - particularly amongst young people - per 100,000 population - are many, many times that of any civilized country.[/QUOTE

Your arrogant condescending attitude is pathetic.

Name one single day in the last half century when the U.S. has not had troops off killing people somewhere on this planet or were not propping up some Diem or Pinochet or Shah or Saddam etc etc etc to do it for them.

Yeah, you are probably right about that. However, had it not been for American troops off killing Germans, and Japanese, you condescending troll, you would either be speaking German or Japanese. I can only surmise, that you believe this country should pack up all our armament and troops, then quietly slip away returning to our homes. Thus allowing ISIS and the other aggressive militants to do as they please, including beheading you and your family. Great idea, make that proposal to your country's leader, and see how far that boat will float. Once that fails try petitioning the UN to sanction the US, preventing this country all acts of aggression, whether another country requests our assistance or not.
