Hi all

I am 39 years old and never married and I am trying to understand why the world is envolved around sex. I mean thats all you hear about is sex. I am 39 and yes it's old for still being a virgin but I am waiting for my wife.

Right now, I enjoy being a father to my lab, his name is Miller and he is a great dog but one day I want to be married and become a father.

Is there anyone else who is around my age and still waiting to have sex and if so,,, how do you manage not to fall victim to having sex outside of marriage.
 
God will honor you for being obedient to his directives. You ask the question how do others managed not to fall victim to having sex outside of marriage. It's a decision. Other things help too... like:
- staying in the word
- avoiding comprimising situtations
- developing friendships that hold you accountable.
- being involved in a church

I think youbshouodvbe waiting on God , and, don't even THINK about sex because the Devil will take advantage of that thinking.

Yes, great waiting on God, for everything good comes from Him in his timing.

I share you views, I am a 38 y.o woman and I have waited and trusted in the Lord. But now I am beginning to feel like my time is running out. I would like to have a child but unlike men my time time limited for that.

As to how I manage not to fall victim idk. There is this little voice in my head that won't let me do wrong stuff no matter how much i may want to. Exapmle when i was younger I started dating this guy who was not a chirstian, but i felt so guilty becasue i knew he would never become a christian that i eventually broke it off. Who knows maybe that was a mistake. If i had stayed with him i would be married with at least 2-3 kids now. He is still not a chirstian.

I did find it odd his named appeared to look like 'single father' yet said he was a virgin? *shrugs
 
Well, his post said he's the father to a dog (lab specifically). I wonder if it's an insult if one dog calls another a "son of a man".

There are at least a couple biblical examples of God overcoming infertility, one was Hannah, who was said to be
unable to have kids and she had Samuel. And, Sarah was 90 and God told her she was going to have a baby !
Sarah laughed . So did her husband, Abraham.

Guess who had the last laugh?

Sarah had Isaac !

And, keep in mind, this was after the Floood, so, people were living out normal human years wecstill live out to day.

Don't you daré give up.on God, for His plan, which may not be your plans, Lees, are GOOD (THE BEST!). for you, plans for a future and hope and good things happening to you to bless you and glorify Him. :)

I bet too you can do Google search for : 50 year olds having babies.

A whole ton will be there.

Thanks for those words of encouragement. I am trying to keep faith. But its so hard when u see everyone around u getting married or having kids. Especially when they were kids u babysat or taught in sunday school.

But God, Lees, He, yes, He, almighty He, not only hears your feelings and your pain....He feels your feelings and, yes, hard to believe, maybe, but He also feels your pain. :)

Not only does God feel for you, He HEALS for you , and, things that are near and dear to our heart, finding a Godly mate , or whatever things, He assuages those feelings and pain that won't go away with His power that reaches deep inside you to take away your pain. :)


And, someday, when the time is right those feelings for 'another' will be God-right and you will have His blessing to consecrate that Love in both your lives :)

I understand what you are saying....just yesterday I was telling the Lord how there is so much sex around me. Whether you hear a song on the radio, tv, commericals, shows, movies, and the list goes on and on. We are inundated with it all and I think a lot of us don't realize it. Desensitized.

Well I'm a 30yr old female, and I'm NOT a virgin. You might not understand what the fuss is about, and it really should not be any public fuss about it. The only fuss should be behind close doors! LOL. Do I think about it? Sure. Do I miss it? Yes. LOL. It's enjoyable and you will understand when you do it someday. I know for me that it's the hardest when I'm dating someone and in the past the emotions grow into love eventually. It's hard to wait. But I don't think the feeling of disappointing myself, that person, and the Lord are even worth doing the "dirty deed". That is what keeps me restrained. I have learned that when I find the right man that it will be a short engagement. I see couples engaged for a year or more and I think my head would explode! There's too much room for temptation with a long engagement.....a quick engagement is best in my opinion. I think remaining in the commitment to God is what helps and not putting yourself in a situation where it makes it easy to, uhem, tear it up. LOL. This subject is too funny not to have humor about it. But I commend you for being a virgin this long. The oldest virgin I knew was 40yr old woman, yep, kinda like the movie. But she waited until she was married. She was such a beautiful person.

I agree at 20yrs old it is really difficult to keep my virginity but I want to

It is all about maintaining perspective. Sex is an important tool in solidifying the bonds of marriage and building the family unit.

Suffice to say, its true beauty is in what it represents. Until I can be a valid "representative" I intend to enjoy my virginity and the free time not being a father or husband gives me.

I can understand how someone can go 37 or 47 years without it. So far that part of the wait has been pretty easy, but then again I was born with asceticism of St. Francis and the sex drive of R2-D2.

Yes, yes... but in every man, there is an innate drive for that particular area... He cannot say that he has never thought about it... If he is not too much of a nice guy and missed out on chances that he woudlve taken... then kudos to him, because he is a VERY strong guy... Years and years of dating... and not 1 time...hmmm...Thats not a goal id want to meet... just dont advance that another 10 years... :D!!
