So yea as the title says, walking from new york to california...for god for me and for a girl...I've always wanted to do this walk and I finally have a reason to do it...few weeks back I made a post about my ex girl and how I messed up and was flying there to fix things...things didn't work out too well at first they did we went ona date and it was great but like 5 days laterwe hada really bad argument and I said some things I regret...and she wants nothing to do with me now....and so I'm walking from new york to california...untill she forgives me and even if she does I'm gonna keep walking...I pray that god is with me on my adventure...even though it would seem I'm not putting him first...I am she's just important aswell

I'm sorry but I think you are going about this all wrong. Even if you were to make it, and I'm sure you're thinking that if you do this big thing it will prove to her how much you love her but when you get back she most likely won't be there. Talk to God about it and waite on him. If she's not there when you get your answerd then it wasn't suppose to happen.

Um, dude, this sounds a little nuts to me - do you have a weapon? Do you have money? Do you have places to stay? I'm a realist. You could get hurt. Stay safe, and I'll pray for you, but seriously - is this person worth it? Can you bring a nice big dog with you and stay at a Motel Six along the way? Seriously, how are you mapping this out? Highways are too dangerous to walk on - can you step back here a bit and reassess?

Yea I have a paln,I just put the jist of it here...didn't put much detail, as far as her,she lives with her family and I havea blog which I hope she will follow...it'll be somewhat of a daily journal..and I havestops along the way

And this isn't to get her back, this is to just show her I'm sorry and that's all,and also to put this chapterof life behind me..I'm going with the 95% chancethat she won't take me back..I know how she is and how stubborn so yea..but also when we were together I told her I felt I was gonna mess this up somehow...and she promised shed waita year for meto fix it..and I told her id do everything I could to fix it..and she said she wouldn't be theeasiest to win back..lol and I agreed...sadly things did go wrong andim just keeping my side of the promise..even though right now sheprobly doesn't want me to keep it..

I'm confused on some things. What does walking across the country have to do with the way you talked to this woman? Has the woman already forgiven you, even if shes not taking you back? My understanding of forgiveness and reconciliation has nothing to do with over the top, unrelated actions and has more to do with sincere regret and changing the part of me that caused the problem to begin with. When you hurt someone they don't want overblown acts done in some weird attempt to show regret. They want to hear you apologize, own up to your mistake, and see you change. This just seems completely pointless and unreasonable. And if she hasn't forgiven you, is two months of your life worth you doing this in an attempt to get her to change her mind? It seems to me that you need to forgive yourself, more so than you need her to forgive you.
Also, what does this walk have anything to do with God? You say you're doing this for God, but i think God would rather you help out at your church, at the local homeless shelter, witness to your friends, or any number of other ways. I just don't see walking across the country as doing anything to benefit God.
Now if you'd just said it's something you always wanted to do, and left it at that, i'd probably support that. But throwing in these other excuses as well just removes all logic from the concept.

HAHAHA! Yeah, and I'm gonna walk from Perth to Sydney

*insert sarcasm here*

Good luck!

This is a stand-alone comment, not related to any other post or message, not for: there to be seen in it what the Lord would not say, but for you khar, to see in it what the Lord would say.

How does walking across the U.S. show her how sorry you are, especially since you said this was something you've wanted to do regardless? Also, what happens if you make it to some random state where you know no one an then decide it was a ridiculous idea? Have you figured out how long it's going to take you to walk that far? Can you go without a job for that long? What if something bad happens like getting mugged or something crazy.. People can be unkind! I don't know how good your relationship was back when.. But personally, I wouldn't find some rash decision like this from an ex-boyfriend as wonderful, courageous, or romantic.. I'd kinda see it as desperation. Sorry if I'm being too frank.. But that's just the way I see it. I'd take some more time to think this through!

Not a good idea to travel all of that way on foot and alone. There are some very unkind people in this world. Yes God protects us but he also says to use wisdom. Also, why this time of year? Are you prepared for the elements? How are you going to travel (walk) with all the things that you may need? The terrain you may have to cross...Oh My.....I just don't know.... I wish you well.
