I went out one day,
Many people to see.
And I saw men walking,
As if they were trees.
When I arrived home
I was asked where I'd been.
I said I have been walking
And talking with men.
Next I was asked
What did I say.
I said Jesus lives
And will return one day.
Then I was asked
How did they respond.
I said that it didn't matter
Or that I was wrong.
Next I was asked
How did I feel.
I said I feel sorry for them,
But I'll keep my zeal.
Then I was asked
Where was I going.
I said back into the harvest
To do some more sowing.
Last I was asked
Why would I go again.
I said because I remember
When I was like them.
I once was a man
Walking as if a tree.
And but for God's grace,
A tree I'd still be.
Many people to see.
And I saw men walking,
As if they were trees.
When I arrived home
