an exercise that might show something you haven't seen before... requires a pencil and paper...
When ready- draw a man - where his chest is ... draw a large cup.... Write "God cup" on it...
now draw five smaller cups on each side of Him...going from his armpit down towards his foot... you want them as close to his body as you can get...
On each of those cups, write what you spend the most time doing.... one thing per each cup...
this is the exercise:
god desires to fill his cup in our lives "first"
trust , love, friendship, confidence ... Gods cup also has a small hole in the bottom of it.... it is a cup He wants to "continually" fill...this keeps our dependence on Him... Living water... if we do not allow Him to fill His cup, this cup will run dry and we will tend to run after all the things written in the smaller cups to quench our
thirst... however we will run more and more often (sometimes to an addictive state) because these cups are much smaller...these cups also have holes in the bottom of them... the more we drink from them the quicker they drain..running more often back to them.... all these smaller cups were meant for sharing , but we cant because we are consuming whats in them instead of from Gods cup... we are drinking from the wrong cups if we find we "need" something from someone or something" more than we get it from God...
However, when we allow God to Pour into our God cup... We start drinking from Him... all running stops, the smaller cups are emptied out... Simce we are now drinking from God , God will continually fill His cup...
until our thirst is quenched by God first.. until His cup is full and overflowing.... then and only then do we begin to see a fountain overflowing from gods cup into the smaller cups that we use to drink from.... it is a living stream... And it becomes a waterfall ... What cups are you drinking from most? what are we running after most often? Is it God , or these things in the smaller cups? These cups are actually suppose to be used for handing out a drink of who God is to others..
