Cessationism itself is standard Catholic doctrine.

It stands to reason that all of the doctrine is indeed wrong.
Catholic cessationism is a little different from the word's normal definition. Cessationism teaches, if I understand correctly, that tongues, prophecy, apostleship, and sometimes miraculous healing ceased after the founding of the church.

The Catholic church teaches that there were only 13 apostles (thus more strict that the standard definition, which allows apostles in the early church beyond those 13). But catholics frequently believe in prophecies of one type or another which were issued in the middle ages or even recently. Catholics also believe saints have healed, and has adopted a let-it-be attitude toward tongues in the Charismatic renewal.

It does not seem clear to me from what you have said that "it stands to reason that all the doctrine is wrong". Are you claiming that it is wrong because of the historical mileu it came from?
