What are we called here:

Genesis 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Genesis 12:5
And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.

Acts 2:41
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Acts 2:43
And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

.... and many, many, many other places.

We are souls, made in the image of God the Son who is Spirit, Soul and body. The essence of our humanity is found in our soul.

"THY dead men shall live together with my dead body shall they arise." Isaiah 26:19 This speaks of those belonging to God.
Isaiah 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Jesus referred to a time when He will judge:

John 5:26-30

26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

OT believers will be resurrected and judged in a time yet future.

What about those who rose from the grave after Jesus' resurrection?
what about them?

they did not ascend with the Lord Jesus Christ into heaven. The Lord Jesus Christ alone is the firstfruits ... no one ascended with the Lord Jesus Christ when He was exalted to the right hand of the Father.

" The dead in Christ spoken of in 1 Thess. 4:17 are those who have been born again on or after the day of Pentecost.........." Seems to indicate that no one before the day of Pentecost was in Christ, even though the Spirit of Christ was sometimes in them.
the time in which we live is unique ... it is referred to as the age of grace which began on Day of Pentecost when the promise of the Father was sent and it continues to this day.

That this time is referred to as the age of grace does not mean God's grace was not extended to those who lived and died prior to Day of Pentecost ... or that salvation was not afforded to believers who lived prior to the time the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled His earthly ministry.

I love the proclamation Job made:

Job 19:25-27

25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

27 Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

Job knew of his salvation. These words were proclaimed before God gave the law to Moses.

It was already waste, doesn't become waste because I clean it up. You make as much sense when dealing with practical things as you do when dealing with spiritual things.

I'm not even going to try and sort that mess above out.

No, it says the body without breath/vitality is dead.
NO, it says THE BODY WITHOUT THE SPIRIT IS DEAD. " For as the body without the SPIRIT is dead, so faith without works is dead also." James 2:26. What version of scripture, if any, did you dig that up from? And you call ME a deceiver. BTW, when sawdust is used to absorb liquid waste it then becomes waste itself, not good for anything else. I was referring to actual sawdust, I see you took that upon yourself.

Since the spirit of man returns to God (the spirit of man goes up), the only question is where do our souls spend eternity? The soul of man is Gods' main concern and is the determining factor. But, as the Bible says, " the body without the spirit is dead.." James 2:26, the spirit is the most important part of man, for without life in the body the soul can make no decisions, he has to have a spirit to live to make that decision.

You must not know?

The Son is both soul and Deity in union, eternally.
To create man as a soul? Was to create man in His image...
And, we know that all things created had been created through the Son!

The Son had been soul and Deity in union as the Lord God of Israel!
That was.... Before the Incarnation.

Look here!

And they began to remove the foreign gods from their midst and to serve Jehovah,
so that his soul became impatient because of the trouble of Israel. Judges 10:16
Jehovah himself examines the righteous one as well as the wicked one, and anyone
loving violence his soul certainly hates." Psalm 11:5
“Bring no more futile sacrifices; Incense is an abomination to Me. The New Moons,
the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies— I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred
meeting. Your New Moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates; They are a trouble
to Me, I am weary of bearing them.. Isaiah 1:13-14

That is OT! He was being two natures in union before the Incarnation took place!
The Incarnation simply provided a human body for the Son's soul to make himself become as a man.

.....
God, Jehovah, the Word (until He put on flesh), the Holy Spirit are all Spirits who POSSESS souls, proven, when He says " My soul hates" (possessive) instead of " I hate ".

A soul without a human spirit will be dead to God.
Believers will be dead to God in that case?

From a discussion elsewhere I had about the nature of Sin...

I don't agree. Jesus' flesh and human spirit had no sin at all. Jesus was likely given Mary's DNA but without Joseph's DNA because Joseph would then have taken credit for a "Work" in producing Christ. Flawed Works had to be atoned for and could not produce Eternal Life. Jesus was Eternal Life and was the product of God's Work alone.

DNA can apparently produce defective combinations, but in Mary's case it appears that God "healed" any possible defects in the order of these chemical combinations and the state they were in. The flesh within her imperfect flesh was rendered perfect as far as Christ's being was concerned.

Because human Works are carried on through reproduction, all of mankind, except for Christ, have inherited a Sin Nature and cannot, apart from Christ's Grace, obtain Eternal Life. All of us inherit human DNA as well as a sin-infected human spirituality that disqualifies us from obtaining Eternal Life apart from Christ's Grace.

We all sin, even though through Christ our New Christian Nature may prevail over our Sin impulses--not perfectly but sufficient to show the Nature that we have chosen to reign in our lives. Inheriting human DNA means we inherit flawed Human Flesh. But the Sin is not in the fleshly flaws, eg diseases but rather in the spiritual corruption.

The flesh and the spirit are two separate things. Before we do any Sin we have already been born with a contaminated spiritual nature and will Sin as soon as we are able.

Again, the trial we undergo in life is in proving what Nature we wish to prevail--our New Nature from Christ, which desires to submit to Christ's Righteousness, or our carnal Nature, which wishes to make choices independent of God, even if at times those choices agree with God's choices.

The real battle is in choosing to partner with God *always,* because this proves what Nature we choose to have and to dominate in Eternity. It is not our Sin Nature that condemns us in Eternity. Rather, it is in our choice for Christ, producing a New Nature, or not.

.
Job had FAITH in the PROMISE of his salvation. Just as we have faith in the promise of ours. Again, the difference being we have received an" earnest" or down payment of salvation by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. There were about 2,000 years of grace ( Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression." Rom. 4:15), 2,000 years of the law and now over 2,000 years of grace again, in this present time.

You said nothing, while appearing to say something.
It says nothing TO YOU, maybe because of dull hearing, I don't know. The point being Nez, oops, I mean Genez, the we, made in the image and after the likeness of God, are also spirits who possess souls.

That breath of life contained a spirit also, look it up. And" the body without the spirit is dead " James 2:26, so the soul (mind, will and emotions) MUST make the decision for it's eternity while in the body. That's not possible without a spirit.

So what happens when one dies?
His spirit stops being in him?

How?
We've been over this but, again, " Who knows the spirit of man that goes upward, and the spirit of the beast goes downward toward the earth?" Ecc. 3:21 and " We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Cor. 5:8 Our spirits return to God.

Mark 8:35-37

For whoever wishes/desires to save his soul/life {psuche} shall lose it.
And whoever loses his soul/life {psuche} for My sake and the gospel's {sake} shall save it.
What shall it profit a man to gain the whole world,
and lose his own soul?
For what shall a man give in exchange for his soul {psuche}?

Your human spirit is where a believer perceives and stores doctrinal content that he learns, that the Holy Spirit
will use in guiding our thoughts.

A soul without a human spirit will be dead to God.
Believers will be dead to God in that case?
That's why the Bible says " For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, THEY are the sons of God." Rom. 8:14. The Spirit leads what it born, you spirit, not your soul. If you are led by the Spirit, which leads your spirit, your soul will follow.

πνεύματος (pneumatos): Genitive of "spirit" or "breath." The Greek word pneuma is a euphemism for breathing/wind; thus, the text draws a wordplay where a body without breath is dead, just as faith without works is spiritually dead.

Nothing deceptive on my part, not my fault you can't see past one meaning. 🙈

I've been cleaning you up all through this discussion. And not true it is good for nothing afterwards, you are just as narrow in your imagination as you are in your understanding.
