Was sex Adam and Eve part of the curse

Also, would Adam and Eve have had children? Or would heaven consist of Adam and Eve as the only humans?.

Our original purpose, that is to say, the reason God created us may be found here:

Genesis 2:5 - And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

We were originally created to 'till the ground'. What does that mean? Did God try to go to Home Depot and couldn't find anyone to do his landscaping, so he made us to pull his weeds and blow leaves around?

No.

Before the Fall, 'tilling the ground' meant something else:

Genesis 2:7 - And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Tilling the ground was all about making people! God even tilled the ground to make animals as well:

Genesis 2:19 - And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

Thus, the original purpose of Man was to 'till the ground', i.e., to create life from scratch.

God wanted us to share in that experience. However, he of course needed to test us first as it is a HUGE responsibility. We failed, obviously.

Now we have to do it the hard way. We have to make babies the old-fashioned way. We have to grow things by hard manual labor. That is the lesson here:

Genesis 3:19 - In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Instead of eating the 'Spiritual Bread' of Heavenly Eden, we have to grow it and eat it as a lesson of what could have been:

Matthew 4:4 - But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Luke 4:4 - And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

We all chose to partake of the Forbidden Zygote in our mom's belly. We made a covenant with death and here we are.

Thanks @KelbyofGod for your response.

The following is my opinion and belief:

As you saw me mention earlier, we are tripartite beings. A 'living soul' is just the genome and spirit. It cannot manifest a physical body on its own. God must 'clothe' it with skin and flesh:

Job 10:11 - Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews.

That is what God did here:

Genesis 3:21 - Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

Could you do me a favor? Just watch a few minutes of this video starting at 25:25:

The Rabbi teaches that Adam and the woman were not physical. This is not 'stupid' as the OP claims. I have done extensive research on this.

The Last Adam is a 'quickening spirit' which means he can manifest a physical body on his own as the angels do when they appear here on earth. He also has the power to clothe others with a body. It's a bigger deal than most realize.

Yep, a natural body must be added to the living soul as 'clothes'.

Yep. Being born again from Heaven is a process that involves being reconceived into a new genome/spirit combo.

Specifically, it is more like a gene-splicing operation:

Romans 11:17-24 - And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be graffed in. Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again. For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?"

Those that are on the milk are unable to comprehend how profound this all is. The Bible describes DNA, Quantum Mechanics, Particle Physics, Cell Biology, Genetic Engineering, etc. etc. The information is embedded in symbolic form to be understood when the time was right. That time is now. Many are finally waking up to all of this.

For example, Zechariah describes a 'Stone with Seven Eyes'. Science calls that a Nucleobase or Nitrogen Base. Seven 'eyes' are symbolic of seven Electrons which is the element Nitrogen. Remember, the Spirit was in the Wheels:

Again, the 'eyes' are symbolic of Electrons. Two wheels are two Electron Orbitals or 'shells'. Those atoms are the building blocks of life (Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen).

The 'stone' is symbolic of male testicles or seed, depending on the context:

Leviticus 21:20 - Or crookbackt, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;

Leviticus 21:20 (New International Version) - or who is a hunchback or a dwarf, or who has any eye defect, or who has festering or running sores or damaged testicles.

That is why Jesus is sometimes referred to as a 'Rock'. He is Abraham's Seed:

Isaiah 51:1-2 - Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.

Again, Abraham's testicles/sperm is the 'Rock'. Sarah's womb is the 'Pit'. Life is birthed from the pit of the earth or womb. The Beast is birthed from the bottomless pit, or the womb of creation.

Anyhow, I said all of that to say this....

God is going to take the Stone with Seven Eyes. i.e., the Nitrogen Base, and he will write 'engrave' a new genome with it:

Zechariah 3:9 - For behold the stone that I have laid before Joshua; upon one stone shall be seven eyes: behold, I will engrave the graving thereof, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

This new genome 'upgrade' will remove sin. Thus, Salvation is a genetic engineering process. You folks need to prepare for this Revelation when the AI picks up on this and begins to use this info to its advantage.
In some way I agree salvation is genetic engineering process.
Born again, literally with Jesus blood in us. Spiritual and physical is related, without spirit, the body is just material, no life.
That's the reason God breathe into Adam s nostrils, and Adam became a loving soul.

Interesting.

“till the ground” never means “create life,” and Genesis never assigns humans any creative power.
In Genesis 2:5 the point is simple: no rain and no man to work the soil, meaning the earth was not yet under human stewardship. Genesis 2:7 does not define “tilling” — it defines God’s creative act, which is never shared with man.
Genesis 2:19 repeats the same pattern: God forms animals, not Adam.
The text never says Adam formed anything; he only names what God made.
After the Fall, Genesis 3:17–19 explicitly defines “tilling” as painful agricultural labor, not spiritual reproduction.
Jesus’ “bread” statement in Matthew 4:4 is about obedience to God’s word, not about alternative methods of human creation.
And the “forbidden zygote” idea has no biblical anchor — Scripture never says we chose our own conception, never says we made a covenant with death in the womb, and never ties birth to the Fall.
Isaiah 28:15’s “covenant with death” is about Israel’s political rebellion, not prenatal theology.
The Bible’s actual anthropology is brutally simple: God alone creates life (Ps 100:3; Job 33:4), humans reproduce biologically (Gen 4:1), and “tilling the ground” means farming, not forming souls.

Thanks @Churchgoer . We just had Yom Kippur. Most do not realize what the event is all about.

For most of the year, the Tabernacles and Temples are symbolic of a Eukaryotic Cell:

mhp-0707.png mhp-0709.png

The Menorah for example is symbolic of Mitochondrial DNA:

Psalms 119:105 נ (NUN). Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

The Seed is the Word. The Word was made flesh and 'Tabernacled' among us.

On Yom Kippur, the Tabernacles and Temples become symbolic of an ovum that is fertilized:

Leviticus 16:14 - And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward; and before the mercy seat shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

When the High Priest goes all the way into the Nucleolus and sprinkles the blood, that is symbolic of ovum fertilization.

Seven is Nitrogen, a natural fertilizer. It is the Stone with Seven Eyes:

Two Witnesses Chromosome.png

Thus, the Woman (the one who carries the Seed of the Woman) flees to the wilderness (Exodus) and has a 'place prepared of God' (Tabernacle) so that Her Seed (Abraham's Seed) can be nourished by the daily sacrifices. They were feeding baby Jesus for 1260 years without realizing it. Life begins at conception. The 'Body Temple' of Jesus was symbolic of a zygote.

We even find the Word of God in the Tables of the Heart in Revelation:

The Tables of the Heart is the Genome, i.e., the Soul.

All creation are very related, so we know there is a God almighty, who creat everything out of nothing.
All physics are related, sound, light, electricity, force, matter...
God's creation is absolutely fabulous.

I find this quite sad, but what you wrote is useful in understanding where you are coming from.
And the MeToo movement and omnipresent surveillance only reinforced this taboo. You boomers grown up in the culture of sexual liberation and casual hookup will never understand.

A much younger one, intelligent enough to know and respect other people's bodily autonomy, and taking pride instead of shame in something else which God also said is OK, in Matt. 19:11-12.
Of course if you are single you should keep yourself for marriage. You will get no argument about that here. But it is perfectly o.k. for a married couple to have sex together if they so want to do so.

So unless the Euphrates and Tigris rivers are in heaven, Eden was a garden planted by God on earth. Do you believe there is a Euphrates river in heaven?.

Did you know that in Near Eastern Mythology the river Euphrates and Tigris were symbolic of seminal fluid?
Is that a yes or a no to the question? Do you believe there is a Euphrates river in heaven?

Isn't it funny that the Bible uses those same rivers to teach about how the Tree of Life and the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil were 'fertilized' by said rivers?
There was a single river in Eden which watered the garden. The river went out of Even, then divided into the four heads (Pison, Gihon, Hiddekel (Tigris), Euphrates).

Neither the Tigris nor the Euphrates 'fertilized' any plant in the garden of Eden.

Genesis 2:10 And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.

It's almost as if the Two Trees represent Two Moms that give birth to two different kinds of body types:

Galatians 4:21-27 - Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law? For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all. For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate hath many more children than she which hath an husband.

Huh, imagine that. The Old Testament and New Testament are allegories of Two Moms. One engenders a person a body of corruption and bondage, while the other engenders a person a body of non-corruption and freedom.

Two women, Two Trees, Two seeds.
The "things which are an allegory" referred to in Galatians 4:21-27 relate to the two covenants ... the Old Covenant established in Sinai (Exodus 31:18) and the New Covenant established by the Lord Jesus Christ and He is the Mediator (Hebrews 9:15). The New Covenant was established upon better promises (Hebrews 8:6).

Even though we may "stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free" in this lifetime, we have yet to be "clothed upon with our house which is from heaven".

I do not agree with your suppositions that Adam and Eve were floating bodiless in some ethereal garden in heaven ... then chose the wrong tree to be clothed in skin and bones to live out their lives on earth.

The garden of Eden was a garden planted by God on this earth. There were all kinds of trees from which Adam and Eve could freely eat, including the tree of life. Adam and Eve were not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. satan deceived Eve and she ate ... Adam was not deceived, he ate, and joined his wife in her fallen state.

All of Adam's children were begotten in the likeness and image of Adam (Genesis 5:3). Each successive generation was (and continues to be) begotten in the likeness and image of their earthly parents.

The more you know.
Correction ... the more you know of God's Word.

Lovette, the term "husband" or "wife" naturally implies marriage because the words "husband" and "wife" inherently denote marriage. An unmarried person would never be referred to as a "husband" or a "wife".
Then that's what I was getting at. You speak of it nonchalantly as though it's a natural state everyone's born with, but it's not.
I never said it was ... what you believe I said does not equal what I said.

reneweddaybyday said:
I never said what you believe I said.

I never implied what you believe I said.

That you misunderstood what I said does not equal my having said what you believe.
I misunderstood nothing of your preaching soly based on the narrative of marriage as an established fact.
you most certainly did misunderstand and I base my claim on the fact that you believe I implied that "there's a spouse dropped from the sky for every good christian" ... when I said no such thing.

I don't blame you and I meant no disrespect, because that's the fact in Gen. 2:18, God decided it was not good for Adam to be alone, God brought Eve to Adam, God joined Adam and Eve in one flesh, right? I don't know about your reading, madam, but it sounds an awful lot like an arranged marriage to me, which rarely exists today.
Do you know what the term "help meet" means, Lovette?

Genesis 2:18 18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

It means to help, to succour. The relationship between husband and wife is very dynamic when both husband and wife are cognizant of God, of God's Word concerning the marriage, and they both submit to God and His ways.

Lovette said:
Marriage is not for everyone, and it's not completely within your control.

Then stop worshiping it, acknowledge it as a human institution like all other human institutions. Even in the bible the bride was traded for a bride price, which makes marriage essentially a transaction.
I do not worship marriage. I worship God, Who is the One Who established the marriage relationship.

You consider marriage "a human institution" because you do not understand what God established from the very first chapters in Genesis.

“If a man entices a virgin who is not betrothed, and lies with her, he shall surely pay the bride-price for her to be his wife. If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the bride-price of virgins." (Ex. 22:16-17)

Then the servant brought out jewelry of silver, jewelry of gold, and clothing, and gave them to Rebekah. He also gave precious things to her brother and to her mother. (Gen. 24:53)

Then again, acknowledge it as a human institution like all other human institutions.
That you consider what God established to be "a human institution like all other human institutions" does not mean that the marriage relationship as God designed it is what you claim.

my point is that marriage is NOT for everyone, if a person never have the chance to meet anybody, never get married, or more tragically, doesn't even live to marriageable age, what then?
We each have to live our own lives. God is still God whether we are married or unmarried.

You know, it is written, that the LOVE of money is the root of all evil, but it is often misquoted as money (itself) being the root of all evil, and thus it was used to justify all kinds of evil socialist measures. If you are intelligent enough to distinguish the two, then I'm sure you're equally intelligent enough to distinguish marriage itself and the IDOLATRY of marriage.
Again, I worship God, Who is the One Who established the marriage relationship.

Do you believe that a married person is excluded from having a "taste of heaven" ... a "true union with the Lord" ... an "intimate relationship with the Lord"?
I believe a person who pursues marriage for the sole purpose of getting married, of being counted and identified as a "married person", is excluded.
Well ... thankfully, we have a Father Who loves us and Who always welcomes us with open arms when we turn to Him.

I have never forced anyone "to join together" in marriage.
Then stop worshipping it. Marriage is as godly as the couple, same as any human institution.
Again, I worship God, Who is the One Who established the marriage relationship.

Marriage is for the carnally minded ones who lack self control. A spiritually minded person would have produced spiritual fruits, which include self-control. Again, not my words, but Paul's.

"It is good for them if they remain even as I am; but if they cannot exercise self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion."
As mentioned in a prior post, Paul was responding to the church at Corinth concerning matters about which he had received writing. We do not have that writing in front of us. All we know is that Paul was addressing some issues that had cropped up. Continue reading chapter 8 where Paul addresses issues relating to idolatry and eating things offered to idols. Marriage was not the only issue Paul dealt with in his response to the letter had had received.

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law."
Not every marriage takes place because "they cannot exercise self-control". As shown in Genesis 2:18, Eve was a help meet for Adam.

They're closer to God than the protestant or non-denominational churches that worship marriage as an idol and preach this sexual prosperity gospel, that somehow God will reward your devotion with happy marriage, and happy marriage serves as the proof of your devotion. I'm ashamed of them, of the crooks like Joel Osteen, of any pedlar of such idolatry.
Paedophiles are closer to God. I doubt their victims would agree with you. Neither do I.

No, you erroneously said "eating would also be portrayed in a negative way", and I explained to you that quite the opposite, it was the Pharisees who criticized Jesus by protraying his eating and drinking in a negative way.
Lovette ... you specifically stated:

In the Olivet Discourse, marriage was even portrayed in a negative way, like the days of Noah people were marrying and giving in marriage, ignoring the signs of his coming.

The Lord Jesus Christ was not addressing the pharisees in the Olivet Discourse. He was answering questions His disciples had asked Him:

Matthew 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

He continued His teaching through the end of chapter 25. As part of His answers to His disciples, He told them:

Matthew 24:36-39

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

which is why I told you:

Using your logic, eating would also be portrayed in a negative way. Are you advocating that we should stop eating?

Marriage in particular, though, is portrayed in a negative way in this context because it shows a state of negligence, a lack of watchfulness of the Lord's coming.
the verse says "they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage" ... there was no "marriage in particular" being "portrayed in a negative way". If you're going to go down that trail, you have to include eating and drinking.

Again ... Jesus was speaking negatively about the time in which Noah lived. Noah was a preacher of righteousness (2 Peter 2:5). Noah tried to warn, but people did not listen. Only Noah, his wife, his sons, and their wives were saved. God shut them in the ark ("and the Lord shut him in").

The same sentiment is echoed by Paul in his teaching - time is short, be spiritually minded of godly things, and remain as you are in regard of marital status. " Are you loosed from a wife? Do not seek a wife." In other words, don't marry and give in marriage like those clueless bums Lord Jesus warned about.
The "clueless bums the Lord Jesus warned about" were the folks who ignored the preacher of righteousness (Noah) before the flood came. Jesus was not portraying marriage in the abysmal manner you believe in.

"it is good for a man to remain as he is: Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be loosed. Are you loosed from a wife? Do not seek a wife. But even if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. Nevertheless such will have trouble in the flesh, but I would spare you. But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away."
you're so focussed on your own narrative concerning marriage that you gloss right over these words "But even if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned".

.

I think you may have missed the point I was making.

There was no death before the Fall, therefore anything that was 'food' was not the physical food we eat now; it was spiritual food.

Example:

1 Corinthians 10:3-4 - And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Eating plants, fruits etc., either causes the plant to die or causes the cells inside the plant to die. Either way, it is a form of death which again did not exist. That concept extends to animals as well. Animals cannot eat other animals because that would cause death as well. Thus, both plants and animals were immortal before the Fall.

Example:

Ezekiel 47:12 And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine.

Clearly, we can see in the verse that not just one tree but *all* trees are immortal, yet they are food. Again, the verse is symbolic of consuming the Word of God.

Note that the 'leaf thereof is for medicine'. That is what the Tree of Life is all about. Leaf = Covering. Life will be repaired.
Well, I don't think we are going to agree on this. God said that the fruit of all the trees except one in the Garden were for food, not that they were to feed on His word. That is a spiritual truth expressed later, not only in the New Testament but also in Psalms, where the psalmist talks of God's word being sweeter than honey and the honeycombe.

Genesis 37:9 - And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.
  • Sun = Father = Greater Light
  • Moon = Mother = Lesser Light
  • Stars = Children = Abraham's Seed
Genesis 2:4 - These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens

Generations is a word often used for genetics in the Bible. The Heavens and Earth have genetics according to the above verse. There is way more going on here than the nursery rhyme stuff we are taught.
That is of course so. But just because sun, moon and stars are used as illustrations of family members in Joseph's dream, that doesn't mean that the actual sun, moon and stars are flesh and blood. Jesus called Himself a vine, but that illustration doesn't mean that actual vines have human flesh and blood as Jesus did.
