We don't want war, we want peace. We don't want to fight the lures and subdues of the world. Charles Spurgeon said, "The reason why the church has so little influence of the world is because the world has so much influence over the church". We do not want God, we only want his authority and power. Take pride, some say pride is at the center of every sin. Honestly we just want to be satisfied, but out of pride we say, "This WILL satisfy but God won't" we dictate in are hearts God's law. We put God's law to our judgement, Woe to you sinners!
You see pride is the us saying im better then them or them, we compare ourselves to other for self-rightouenss, self indulgence, and the list goes on and on... but ultimately, pride is us saying, we are better then God. God created that person who we are comparing are selves with. Do compare yourself with the apple or the tree that produce it. Ultimate compare yourself with God, learn his love and his wrath. How I found humility? I meet God, "I created them in my image" he told me. I compared myself to people, and people are just a mirror of God. So quit fooling yourself, it's all God. We can't escape it so don't run. 2 corinthians 2:11. This is to begin the new life.
