The Purpose of the LawThe law was given so that man could see the condition of his relationship with God. To be acceptable to Him, we must be perfect, holy and righteous. The law shows just how imperfect, unholy and unrighteous we really are.All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. Do You know what Jesus path is? One thing that You may not understand is that if we are led by His Spirit that we are led by Him to keep His law. It is true that no one of us is saved by keeping the works of the law. It takes the sacrifice of Christ to be saved. But do not think that You can or will remain in right standing with God or make it in to His heaven if You continue trample the blood of Christ under foot by breaking His law. The New Testament writer wrote "Romans 3:19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Which they do You refer to? There are many theys. Remember, if God gave the law to Moses to give to the children of Israel, it might easily be called either one or both if Moses delivered that which God authored and wanted known.

you keep repeating about faith, about believing we must listen to the spirit of the Lord. It is truth, it is good. But I can't seem to get you to consider anything past that. I would so like you to think about that the Hebrew meaning of the word translated as faith was first written as a man hammering a nail in a wall, it means knowing God is so solid and truthful you can act on that truth. You know so well the faith as our English translates it, but you seem to balk at the act part, that includes the physical part of the spiritual.

I was discussing this law of Moses and someone told me that the first five book were also called the law of moses so if persons say that Moses law are done away they are saying the first five books are done away also . He is saying you then have to look for what was done away in the law of moses

Is this true that they called the first five book the law of Moses ?
i am neither here or there with it but i gave it a thought

In 2013, the law of Moses is understood as that law given on Mt Sinai. In the year the book of Galatians was written the law of Moses referred to a list of things the Jews made up as a requisite for anyone to join in worship of the one true God. It included circumcision, and this list was also called circumcision by the people who were discussing this, besides speaking of it as the law of Moses. God would not think that any of His children would ever consider that Paul would teach that we were not to listen to God, as it has been often said of Paul.

The gentiles didn't want to copy the way of the Jews, the Jews were afraid the gentiles would go back to their idol worshipping ways and take Jews with them, as often happened. It was a big deal in that century, history writes of how big a deal it was.

Paul wanted to teach gospel, not ways the Jews worshipped. Now, we take Paul to mean that God was wrong in much of what God said, not that Paul meant the gospel was what was important.

Most people don't believe that reading history counts in learning about God. So I'll be struck down for bringing this up.

Some people call the first 5 books of the bible the Torah, which basically means law. There is much more to the first 5 books of the bible, though, than just the law of Moses. Nothing in Genesis pertains to the law of Moses. The law doesn't even get mentioned until about chapter 20 in the book of Exodus.

I do not imply that we are under the law if we keep His law. Do You not know that You are under the law only if You break it? Remember what it says in "1 Corinthians 6:
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
12 All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Note here that verse 12 says "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any." Do You know what this means?

It may not so much matter if everyone calls it that, if everyone also knows and remembers always that it is the law of God and authored by His Spirit.
 
It is demons working in our church to twist and turn on scripture until they make scripture say that God is against God.
The results are that people are afraid to do anything to worship God, as it might break the commandment to worship in spirit and truth. So with fear of doing physically anything to express worship, it opens the door so it seems fine to let in a bit of doing of sin, like a bit of immodest dress. So if that is OK then we can take the next step, then the next until now we have the mess we are in.
 
Do You realize that Christ kept the law and told His disciples to do as He did?
Best not sacrifice for forgiveness. Otherwise, Christ cease to be one's only appeasing sacrifice.

Best not get circumcised for a Covenant with God. Otherwise, one place their self back under the Law (reward:death) and not Grace (reward: life).

Best not place one's self under the Law for their schoolmaster. Otherwise, they would miss out on the spiritual path the Spirit leads on.

Do not [you] call The Law of God only the law of Moses.
The Law of God (delivered by Moses' house): given to the Hebrews for a Covenant.

The Moral Law of God: those Laws which define the essential character of God (Psalms, Proverbs, 10 Commandments).

The Law of the Spirit from Jesus Christ (delivered by the Son's house): The WHOLE Law of God MINUS those parts of that Law which Christ fulfills for those who are through His house. NAMELY: the Moral Law of God: LOVE.

A believer in Christ is dead to the law of Moses, and legally can never be under it. If we walk in the spirit we walk in love, and there is no law against love because it is the highest law. If we don't walk in the spirit, we don't walk in love, and violate that law and come under condemnation of that law. But we don't fall under the law of Moses.
