i think its a bit of an outdated stereotype that the bride does nothing and relies on the husband to provide these days, so its not really realistic to say thats a millenial thing. Maybe in some parts of america that might be true where they still live like that. Most women actually work!

You have a great point, L (can I call you L?). I could write an entire book on this one subject that you so aptly pointed out. Women are buying into the notion that since they are able (and willing) to make more money today, the fathers of their children are merely an accessory. You hear sound-bites within the media that make you cringe. They relegate the man to a kind of "servant sperm donor." Men are no longer valued as the head of household. In fact, they are no longer valued as fathers!
 
i think men need to step up if they want to be fathers too not just husbands. if wives are earning more but dont have as much time to invest at home then the husbands shouldnt it be a bit more equal with the husband being more hands on with parenting or would that just totally upset the balance.
or should they, if both are so busy working, and earning tonnes of money just hire a nanny? thats what rich people do so most mothers dont even have to actually nurse or mother at all.

Again, possibly a small subset of wealthy people actually live like this.

We have people from all backgrounds in their walk with the Lord. Some are new Christians. Others many years. A lot are hurting. Others are healing. We all need the Lord every day.

oh dear.

when I replied I wondered if the OP didnt know any women who worked.
It is quite common for women to take lower paid jobs but not because they WANT to be lower paid than men but because many employers dont actually pay women what they are worth and those kinds of jobs still need to be done!
Men dont often take those kinds of jobs because it is seen as womens work. Im thinking of lower paid work like teacher aides, nursing, assistant etc.
