I don't think failing to quickly recognize the symptoms of Ebola represents any negligence on the part of the Hospital. And, even if the hospital had diagnosed it correctly, right away, the man would still have probably died.

Still, someone will get a huge settlement out of the hospital. A few million dollars, some going to the lawyers, some probably going to Jesse Jackson, and the rest going to the family in Africa. Even though his man shouldn't have been in the US in the first place (he lied to get here), and certainly wouldn't have paid for medical services received even the hospital saved him, as well as the fact that the hospital didn't act with negligence.

We're just seeing another shakedown, which is how "black leaders" pay or their private jets.

I believe when it comes to 'experimental drug' not every patient will react the same. It will work for some and not others. It really is about whether our immune system will accept, reject or absorb some of the drug. It's a chess game. I don't think the hospital should be liable. And most hospital will make you sign a consent form indicating that promises no guarantees and free itself from lawsuits.

There may be things they experience which we don't, and getting all upset right away whenever racism is mentioned, might make non-minorities as absurd as those who cry racism at every breath.

Might being the key word to the above statement, and if you knew me, you would know that the above statement does not apply unto me.....and without a doubt....racism takes place on both sides of the track....! I had a WHITE older lady sit at a desk in Arkansas seeking help after her husband had died from a heart attack, she walked away from the place sickened as the lady behind the desk (being black) had told her to sell the rings on her fingers if she needed money...I wonder if she would have had the same response if she had been black?

I know as a woman who has thoroughly studied the Bible, and have a close and vibrant relationship with Jesus and I am often insulted by the provincial attitudes of many in this forum. Christ makes everything a level playing field.

Regardless of so called reverse racist remarks, we do need to be colour blind, and that includes showing God's love to people who are not white male WASPs.

I'm not saying everyone is like this, but I do feel that if an unbeliever was reading this thread, even one rotten apple would spoil the barrel!

Thomist, I don't pretend to know what the Lord is doing. I thought He would have destroyed the USA long ago for baby-murder in the millions. But no. His thoughts are not my thoughts.

Still I can't help but wonder if this ebola thing is going to be the Lord's way of bringing this Sodom to its knees before Him. It may well be that no matter what men do, this ebola may run rampant.

Already it looks like contamination is practically unavoidable. Can it be like this?:

If an ebola patient is taken to the hospital in an ambulance, the ambulance has to be quarantined & the paramedics who took him there. It is like a sci-fi horrow show. I can see them spraying alcohol on the tire tracks where the ambulance drove. They executed a nurse's dog without signs of ebola. And who will handle the dead body? Every handler may be contaminated. And if they cremate, the cremators may be contaminated. Those who check out the apt where the ebola patient lived need to be quarantined. Then what about the places they go to & where they live? And what about mutations of ebola? All this can be pretext for an infinity of government control of people.

What will it take to bring the USA to repentance?

I think it's a good question you raise, but do you realize there are many who would call YOU racist for calling blacks "they"?

One of my favorite American figures of all time is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I have tried as hard as possible to live by his brilliant message of judging people by the content of their character not the color of their skin. If every member of congress, the Senate, and President were a black woman I could literally care a less, if they followed the Constitution.

What happened to cause most of black America to reject King's message? Well at about the same era that King made his remarks a Democrat President had remarks of his own:
As a matter of fact, it was Democrat President Lyndon Baines Johnson who stated, “I’ll have those n-word voting Democratic for the next 200 years” as he confided with two like-minded governors on Air Force One regarding his underlying intentions for the “Great Society” programs.

What the "great society" and similar, subsequent, policies has done is to destroy the black family, some welfare programs are actually designed to promote illegitimacy, and single motherhood, and worse, permanently damage the collective psyche of many blacks to the lie that they are inferior and in need of handouts and affirmative action programs. Who hasn't looked at a black in a certain position and thought "she only got there through affirmative action" If YOUR'E thinking that, ever, you better believe she is as well REGARDLESS of whether it's true or not. Also, the education system is designed to keep blacks trapped in inner city, failing, neighborhoods and schools. First by giving a very sub-par education, then by refusing school choice initiatives so they could get out.

Then factor in the huge industry that has arisen from people like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Chris Matthews, etc..to constantly inflame ANY event OR non-event with the steady drumbeat cry of racism and you have your a perfect recipe for what we are experiencing in America today.

A partial cure? STOP VOTING DEMOCRAT! I know the GOP isn't great either, but they are the only legitimate political hope to turn things around we have.

With the respect that some give to you it is a shame that your maturation level allowed you to get so caught up in a wording issue.
I wont debate race with you that would also be slanted since my heritage has me strongly connected to the blacks referred to. Stating how you feel as a man is one thing but when you are a Christian man it adds a whole other dimension. Again I wont give you a lecture or dissertation I stand by what I said as firmly as you stand by what you said and with no animosity, yet I do believe you were over eager to send blacks back where they came from friend or no friend or that was the impression to your agreement with the statement that you agreed with.

Glad to see you try to make sense of his statements but I see it deeper. My issue is the overt way he agreed with sending blacks somewhere else. Well where would that be and why should they go somewhere else? For being dismayed at the real issues in the US with not just race. I don't recall anyone saying dc was a racist. Well here is a news report I was not the author or founder of racism nor to my knowledge any of my ancestors yet I have learned the ways throughout my life from the insistent continued teachings of the majority in the US either overtly covertly of blatantly open ways. It is real and it is alive in the church on this site and in the world yet the conversation about it must be intelligent not in blanket statements like THEY( Blacks who cry about racism real or precieved) can go some where else?

My guess is that dCon is dismayed at the inability of many just to integrate and to stop thinking in terms of "white people" & "black people," the inability to stop defining situations in terms of pigment. I see dCon's statement as his desire that we should be color blind and his annoyance at those who are themselves racists but cry "racism." If dCon complains about such people, it would be judgmental then to call him racist for his objecting to this hypocritical racism. However, he did overgeneralize.

Now among Christians there is neither Jew nor Greek, etc. We are all a part of the new race of the Children of God.

The reality is not in the words or names, Blacks call each other in jest the 'N' word all the time as well as Latino's similar names to each other. I can do the same to blacks and latino's because they quickly sense I am joshing with them. It is when everyone gets down and serious and use the name's in a derogatory manner that things start getting ugly.

Why are you projecting your ignorance on to me? Yes, Modern History was my favourite subject in High School and yes I was top of my High School for that.

The Vietnam War
The Gulf War
The Iraq War
The Afghanistan War

The civil rights movement was studied for half a year in year 11, because it has wider implications beyond the USA.

Not to mention, the study of law, where case laws from the UK and the USA are considered in the HIGH Court of Australia.

Why wouldn't we study US history?

I think its time that it's recognized by the various so-called anti-racist committees that racism also exists with white people as targets. Sometimes there's a spooky air of some sort of anti-white agenda in some of the rhetorics of the politcally correct. Collectively blaming "priviliged" whites as the culprits for just about any socioeconomical problem in the world. Just replace the word "white" with "jew" or "khmer" for example in that rhetoric and the whole world knows what's going on. But few will see it as bad as it is because it's white people who are being bullied. The world isn't so black and white as some think.
