Well, it's time for me to complain again; I'd like some input on this. It seems as though no matter what I do, I can never get a girl to do anything more than look at me. I try being courteous as possible, Lord knows I'm not a guy to be forward with girls, and I keep myself pretty well but still, every time I wind back up at zero. So I guess my question is to the ladies on this one really. I try to be interesting in conversation, although I'm not someone who's into pop culture or anything of the sort. If you were to ask me if I saw that last episode of American Id-"no, I don't watch it, never have", so yeah, not somebody you'd call trendy. I don't watch popular tv shows at all, mostly because they bore me and also because they're usually moronic. I very obviously have a beard, which I know some girls like and some don't, but I look baby-faced and around 12 years old without it. I'll admit that I'm not a good chatter; I like to talk about world issues like politics, science, and those sorts of things. I always try to get a girl to open up about her interests and aspirations because I honestly want to know more about her and what makes her tick. I'd say I'm average looking, but then again my opinion would be biased. I write songs that are pretty good even if I do say so myself and I'm currently waiting to record a demo CD for some music business-types that want to hear some more of my material. I'm incredibly shy around girls I find attractive, and in the occasions when I've gone beyond my shyness and talked to her, inevitably she has a boyfriend; that or the conversation suffers a whimpering death and fades into silence and a subsequent,"well it was nice talking to you, I'm gonna go say hi to...."
So given all that, I'd say I've got some things going for me, more than your average bird at least. So ladies, tell me, what am I doing wrong? Feel free to ask questions.

Hi! I dont think you've done anything wrong so far. Though you rily have to boost your self confidence. If you appear as one with confidence it tends to attract some air of 'I blive in myself' it will help you to be able to speak to any gal without being shy. You can even get a fav topic that you know they can easily and readily talk about, to help you start a conversation. All the best

Maybe it's your beard. You are young so I would assume you would want to get to know girls up to 3 years younger than you. As someone in that category I would say most of us young girls don't like beards-they are SCARY!!!!! or at least you should always make sure it's trimmed and not super bushy-it should look nice. Hope you get what I am saying. That's my personal opinion. It sounds like you want to keep your beard .... then I would say KEEP IT NEAT....(important)

Good Morning

You are normal. Maybe a little frustrated and wondering when you'll find that one "right" girl to you.

And, 99.5% guarantee, that in 2-5 years you will be a more confident, changed, and possibly happier man (last result if you find this girl) :)

Let's see...........I would like to share

From Our Daily Dread (www.odb.org) for today, Thursday, June 2, 2011

Each new sunrise is a reminder of that eternal morning when "bright heaven's Sun" will arise with healing in His wings. Then everything that has been made will be made over and made irrevocably right. There will be no throbbing backs or knees, no financial struggles, no losses, no aging. One Bible version says that when Jesus returns we will "go out and leap like calves releases from the stall". The is my highest imagination and hope.

Jesus said, "Surely I am coming quickly"

Jesus = good
Problems of the world = bad

Your being lazy, thats whats wrong. If i was interested in you, i'd wait for you to do something about it. Where it seems you wait for the girl to do something about it, since you said your shy. Your just gonna have to get over that whole shy thing, cause that just doesnt work with the whole dating thing.

From what you described about yourself, to me you seem interesting. However all girls are different, some may think what you described means your boring.

Some reasons why a woman might not be interested in you

-Your to flirty with everyone.
-You talk mostly about yourself.
-Your girl crazy
-You have that spiritual holier than thou attitidue
-Your to concerned with how she looks
-Your beard has lice
-Most of your friends are girls

I am sure his beard doesn't have lice. It's harder to have lice than not have them, especially when you are not blonde. and He is shy so maybe not all girls friends.

Thanks! I honestly think you're right about needing to be a bit more bold. I just have a hard time doing that whole "breaking the ice" bit, it's tricky. I really try to avoid talking about myself, I figure that's usually probably a fairly boring subject, so I try to talk the girl about herself, what her interests are, that sort of thing, and if there's something we've got in common I'll share something about myself in that regard.

I can seriously imagine being a guy is quite diffucult. Especially when it comes to dating. Your the ones that are supposed to be bold and put yourself out there to only get rejected sometimes.

Make sure you do talk about yourself, theres nothing worse than a guy who wont tell you jack crap about himself... and you have to like pry everything out of him...

It does sound like your goin in the right direction with all this though. Good luck to you

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. Like most of us, the right person simply hasn't come along.

You probably will need to come out of your shyness a bit though, as most ladies won't make the first move.

There's also nothing wrong with not liking small talk. If I couldn't discuss things of substance with someone I was dating, I'd be incredibly bored too. BUT...it's not good to be serious ALL the time. :)

Kiss dating goodbye for one. Not for the holier than thou, self-protective reasons that some give for kissing dating goodbye. Rather, kiss it goodbye because dating puts pressure on your shoulders and ends up making you feel like ya gotta impress someone.

Go out there. Make friends. Socialize around women. Have making friends as your chief concern. Ditch the I gotta impress a girl and I gotta date a girl mentality. Ditch that cuz it just makes one hide their true self anyways.

Once you're out there, making friends, being yourself, some girl will eventually click with you. She'll see the real you, cuz you're not trying to impress or date her. Sparks will fly. Love will happen. Bla bla bla.

i don't think u are "doing something wrong" , just be yourself , you can't please everybody , just make sure you want God's will in your life , letting Him mold you in His image and "your girl" will come one day . u don't need to worry about it or about anything at all in your life and get frustrated , don't go after the blessings, go after being more and more like Jesus, blessings will come when God wants so and it's always the bestest possible for us :-)
