the early christians were just ordinary people who chose to follow Jesus/ they werent even called that at first/ but when the world saw them acting like Jesus/ so they became know as Christians/ it pretty much means Christ imitators/ so then they adopted the name the world had given them based on how they acted/
is that still the same today? do we imitate Christ with our actions? can people see by what we do that we are christians or do we have to tell them all the time? sure we can tell them that we're a christian till we're blue in the face but do we show it in what we do? can they see it at work? at home? would they say/ hey they're acting like that Jesus fellow
ill be the first one to admit that i have a hard time with this at home/ my family and i dont get along on alot of things/ i love them with all my heart but my actions dont always show it/ how can we show people that we're as serioius about it as the christians were back then? are we willing to face humiliation? trials? losing some friends because of it? having to choose between God and school at times? be counted on to follow Gods work over man? for the sake of the call lose everything to listen to what God says to do?
im faced with these choices more often then id like to be/ but is being in a relationship with God and Jesus about being happy or about having joy in them? the difference is that happy changes with your mood and how your feeling/ Joy is constant/ it says that i might be happy or sad, and i might be doing well or stuggling, but my hope is in the Lord and i know that He's got this/ how do i know that? well he says in Deuteronomy 31:6 to {Be strong and courageous/ Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave or forsake you}
to me this means that whatever im going through i can have hope that God will see me through one way or another/ i may not have an easy time and most likely wont but if God is for me and He can create whole universes just by speaking it then why should i fear man? living up to this may be hard but its always possible/ fear is not a sin/ its what you do in your fear that matters/ so what will we do?
