I am an adopted child of God. born again because I freely chose to receive the gift of eternal life offered by my savior. I believe eternal life is eternal, based on the work of God, and not conditional based on my own good deeds, thus it can not be lost. Thus I am neither.

Your typical Christian probably has no idea what Calvinism or Arminianism actually means. Many can barely identify themselves according to their denominational affiliations much less doctrinal affiliations which requires a bit more study and effort to understand. I had no idea that there was such a thing as Calvinism or Arminianism before I began to frequent this website about 5 years ago. Since then I've attended ministry school so I have a much better grasp of what it is I believe.
Personally, I'm neither Calvinist or Arminian because I believe both sides make very valid points that all Christians should take into consideration. However, I prefer to fellowship and keep company with Arminians because I've encountered far less religious pride among their ranks.
As far as my beliefs are concerned, I am a Pure (Absolute) Continuationist. Basically it is the belief that, from God's perspective, nothing has really changed since Pentecost and won't change until Christ returns to set up his Kingdom here on earth. There is absolutely nothing written in the bible itself to justify that anything has changed from God's perspective.
Accept the bible for what it says, attempting not to add to or take away, and we will get along just great!

I'm pretty sure Arminian. As a good rule of thumb if your not a Calvinist and your not a Catholic then you vote Arminian.

I think we can know these things enough, through what the bible says..I just think we can't be overly dogmatic about certain things though, some we should be.
I thought Catholics are Arminian? I usually hear Calvinists say how much we are pro Catholic church because we're Arminians..that intellectual pride and dogmatism is one of the first things that drove me away from Calvinism, then I saw how it didn't line up with scripture IMO.

Both Catholics and Calvinists have a tendency to clump everyone who does not agree with them into one group. They really could care less what you believe because in there eyes you're probably a heretic. *lol*
I could preach a sermon one week on the Sovereignty & Providence of God which would convince you that I'm a Calvinist then turn around the next week and preach on Unlimited Atonement that would you make you do a 180.
According to die hard Calvinists, I'm Arminian despite the fact that I could argue that I'm a 4 point Calvinist from the Keswickian persuasion. *lol*
Personally, I'm a first generation Quaker at heart. I absolutely adore George Fox & Isaac Pennington. Unfortunately, Quakerism has fallen apart over the last 400 years and all that's left that is remotely Christian is a handful here or there that are basically Wesley Holiness.

lol, catholic are by no means arminian.
the main point is the gospel. how do we get to heaven.
a question to all arminains. Do you believe anything other than rejection of God (falling from faith) can cause one to lose salvation.. ie can falling into sin, but a continued faith in Christ (say IE a prodigal son) cause someone to lose salvation?

lol, hypercalvanist huh? I agree with what you said though.
I taught romans 9 once, I started from a calvanistic viewpint, I thought i was going to get mobbed, One guy looked like he was ready to kill me (although I know he wasn't)
When I stated, "this is the calvanist interpretation. now lets look at it and see if it realy says that" there was such a relieve over the room.
I will say this. I believe all calvanists who have true faith in Christ, and not fake wannabees just playing a game, are saved and going to heaven.
Methodists get their name from John Wesley. Wesley was an Arminian.
Me, personally, by my own theology, one could say I lean more to the Arminian side, since i hold to free will, conditional election, unlimited atomement, and resistible grance- however Arminians teach and believe in Original Sin... I do not.
I'm simply a Non-Calvinist. However, I'm neither an open theist, or a Pelagian
