Snaketacular (2016) ...this is a tv special about snakes, hosted by Danny Trejo. Of course, you get Danny's humor along with it. He tells you, "If a snake ever bites you, please, seek immediate treatment. Or don't. I don't really care."

I was thinking what they advise if you get attacked by a bear......

Mauled by a Momma Duck

Just play dead.
Just play dead birdie.
Birdie. It's alright now.
She's gone.

I've not seen that, but I subscribe to 2 channels of good snake hunters.

This one free handles venomous and lives in Asia.

In my area, kites breed here in the spring (Mississippi kites, to be exact). I had a pair visiting last year. I'd watch them when I was relaxing in the lounge chair in the evening. They'd fly over my head. Thankfully, I don't have to go far to do birdwatching lol.

That's great! I don't have kites here, but the day before yesterday I was in the back yard and there was a brilliant red cardinal next to me. They are so relaxing.

it sounds like you have a bird sanctuary too AND a stream.
Can you fish there?

It was entertaining. It was 43 minutes long. I tried to find a clip of it on yt to post here, but didn't see anything. I ran across it on discovery+ and thought to myself, "Snakes? Danny Trejo? I'm watching this." lol
I'll see if I can find that online.
I never saw him in a nature show.

I tried a few other sites besides yt, but still couldn't find even a clip of it. I guess discovery+ has it cornered.

I think snakes was the perfect animal show for him lol. He didn't actually handle any though, he was just the host. It was still entertaining if you ever run across it.

Thanks for checking for me.
The only thing I can find is a scene from a movie he was in, Anaconda.

Speaking of anacondas.... I found a picture of one similar to the Yellows I raised.

Rhonda Anaconda was named after my crazy Red Head Ex girlfriend. She was pretty but unpredictable. She was the stereotype redhead, I mean Yellow Anaconda, flighty and occasionally bitey.

Anna Anaconda was a tamed sweetheart. She attended many of my shows. She was also a bright lemon yellow but a personality to match...
I wish I could have found a suitable mate for her. She would have had the best babies.

Flighty and sometimes bitey lol. Sorry, that made me chuckle! Sometimes beauty comes with problems.

That's a pretty snake!

I live in a small city and this year we had a reptile expo here. I wasn't able to go, hopefully next time, but it's nice to know we have that here now.
Here's a few pics from the expo here (photo credit: Green Country Reptile & Exotics Expos)

They are fun to attend. You can ask Qs of the breeders and the price of admission is kinda like going to the reptile exhibit at a zoo. The first ones in the picture look like Ball Python morphs. It's amazing how much genetic variation there is in just that species alone. It's getting to be like raising dogs with the variety of colors, patterns, and temperament.

I'm already trying to decide how to organize animal trade and determine what the Lord wants for captive raised animals in agriculture, pets and display. In the new Earth I don't know, but perhaps He will put me in a position as zoo director since I didn't take a position in this life.

I used to like Denzel, but once he started claiming to be a Christian, i began losing interest in him.
(...)
Wouldn't have bothered me so much if it wasn't someone claiming to be Christian. But in this case it irked me.
He is also a weird person to me. The role he played in the Equalizer is also extremely questionable. The movie is far too brutal for my taste anyway and I wouldn't watch it.

Somehow I missed this post. I really didn't see it yesterday.

Living on the edge of the country near woods and a river makes for a good area for me to see various types of birds.
A lot of birds visit the yard. I credit dad. He had been feeding them for years. I still feed them. Cardinals are one of the main birds that live in or visit the yard. I hear one right now as I type. I also have been hearing the pileated woodpecker this morning.

Can I fish here? Yes. A lot of people on both sides of my family loved to fish, but my grandmother and mother in particular. Growing up, I fished alone, with dad, with a friend, with cousins, but mostly with my grandmother and mother. When I was 9, my grandmother wanted me to go fishing with her at a particular pond that I hadn't been to before. We get there and snakes surrounded us. I seen one on a limb right near my grandmother's head staring at her. As she stood on the bank, cigarette hanging from her mouth, one slithered between her feet. She wasn't phased at all. More were coming across the pond. They were everywhere. We were practically covered up with them. What does she say, "Ohhh, they won't hurt ya'"

Fast forward to years later, when I was visiting the same grandmother. She wanted me to go fishing with her. I asked, "Are we going to the snake pond?" She chuckled and said no. We go to a fishing spot that I hadn't been to before. It was a familiar scene. My grandmother is standing on the bank fishing, cigarette hanging from her mouth. I sat on the bank. There was tall grass next to me. Snakes start showing up from all directions and then the grass started moving right next to me. I gave my grandmother the side eye. She chuckles, "Ohhh, they won't hurt ya'"

I've seen Book of Eli. Thank you for pointing that out!

Something that @Subhumanoidal forgot to mention is where the Book of Eli was about Islam? Hmmm humanoidal?

I don't like the fake Bibles any more than the Quran. They masquerade as the Authentic and many people are deceived into thinking they are all God's Word. My first gut reaction was that Quran should be tossed into the sea. Then I thought it through without trying to read so much into it, between the lines, like so many do with Bible interpretation. There's always some hidden meaning people like to superimpose.
You might want to write an email to the> Set Director< or person head of the Props department if you want to complain. I've read a script or two. They contain dialog and stage directions. There's not much else. You mentioned how I said that Denzil changed the script to reflect a Christian perspective. It's not perfect, and I never said you had to like it.
I'm involved with more important things like catching a fly that got past me in the way in the house.

If you ever get around to reading a script, believe it or not, a production involves more than just one actor for the whole show. The lead actor doesn't normally direct, make the set, put props on shelves, etc.
Those are the technical departments. I can only guess that some props person took a picture of a library shelf, at best, to put the Bible placement in a realistic context in the movie set of a library.

I don't even know for sure if Denzel Washington is a believer any more than I know if you are. I asked for an opportunity to witness to him.
I did however enjoye the theme of the doctrine of the miraculous preservation of the> Holy Bible <.
That has been a theme throughout history, starting in the Beginning..
That's where Mr. Washington paid more respect for the doctrine of preservation in a post apocalyptic fictional action movie than half the pulpiteers who go by the title Reverend and Father on Sundays.

Then there's the underdog background theme of a blind kid, who God gives a brail Bible to protect as he travels during WW3 from coast to coast through untold perils. God miraculously provides him food, shoes and he actually thanks Him for them in scene 3.

As Eli travels, he's memorizing and quoting Scripture. (Correct me if I'm wrong. Was the Quran quoted?)
At the end he's dying a slow Martyr's death from a gut shot wound as he quotes the Bible he memorized, so that the word can be printed in mass on an old mechanical printing press. This happy ending shows that God made sure His Word would be shared to the desolate world once more.
That's not your liking humanoid, but was my kind of movie.

I preferred it over the Jesus movies that portray Christ as an effeminate looking non-biblical character. I'm not a fan of the movies that portray my masculine Savior like one of the homo renaissance artists' models.

The movie is far from perfect, if there is such a thing as a perfect movie. However, I liked the theme and some of the best hand to hand combat choreography. But that's my thing. Literally my martial art system uses the same fighting techniques against multiple attackers.
My techniques were tested in real scenarios.
Blessed be the Lord my strength, which teacheth my hands to war and my fingers to fight.

I don't think Subhumanoidal meant that it is about Islam. In his response to me, he said the Bible is
...it's placed on a shelf with other religious books of all kinds. It seemed to kind of put the Bible as equal to other religious books, such as Islam.
To me, this is different than him saying it's about Islam.
I did check on this and screenshotted the scene that Subhumanoidal is referring to. It does indeed show the Bible being placed on the shelf in the manner that Subhumanoidal says. In fact, it is placed right next to the Quran. So, what Subhumanoidal said, taking into the correct context he said it, it makes sense to me what he's saying.

>>>>>>>

You mentioned how I said that Denzil changed the script to reflect a Christian perspective. It's not perfect, and I never said you had to like it.
I don't know if you are referring to me here, but I did not mention that in my discussion with Subhumanoidal. In fact, the only response of mine to Subhumanoidal is this...

I've seen Book of Eli. Thank you for pointing that out!

I found it hard to watch him in the role he played in Gladiator 2, considering he claims to be a Christian. And then I read about the deleted scenes and I was even more skeptical. Just personally speaking, if I was an actor, I wouldn't be able to act in that role as a Christian.
If you meant Subhumanoidal, I didn't find where he mentioned you. Pardon me if I reading the reply wrong!

Personally, I didn't have a problem with Book of Eli and I honestly didn't even notice that until Subhumanoidal pointed it out and I checked that scene.

>>>>>>>

I've seen all The Equalizer movies and I really liked his acting in those movies. I don't know if I would have liked them so much if it weren't for Denzel. Having said that, as I mentioned to Subhumanoidal, I was disturbed by his character/role in Gladiator 2. I find it hard to imagine a Christian acting in the role he played in that movie. I didn't say he's not a Christian, I just said I find hard to imagine a Christian acting in that role (the role he acted in Gladiator 2). That's just my viewpoint.

No worries.
He was responding indirectly about one of my previous posts to you.
As a man I was confronting him about it properly and responded appropriately.
It's no longer worthy of my time, but I got on a roll when I drank a fresh cup of hot coffee.

☕😎
About Gladiator 2, I own the first one, but heard from every source I checked that the sequel was awful. That's why I put off seeing it yet. Perhaps I won't since Denzel's character was a villain.
Thanks for the warning.

Wow. Ego much?
I couldn't have responded to you indirectly since I've had you blocked for a long time.
The only reason I saw this post was to see who Carrie was talking to.

And she's right. I said they placed the bible among other religious books as if to make them all equal. Then used one example as to what I meant by other religious books.

So perhaps "as a man" you're just way off base.
