I don't give a hoot about anyone's opinion other than God's. He frequently lists homosexual pratcises along with theft and murder, and calls it unnatural.

What any sinful person on the planet today thinks matters absolutely NOTHING compared to God's opinion.
What any person claims to be their right, also matters nothing whatsoever when God says something contrary to it.

Don't like my source material? Argue with God.

I was exposed to pornography as a child. Who (that wasn't raised in a house that sex is considered the Devil's work) hasn't at least been curious about porn? I know you're not saying that's the only cause but I know A LOT of gays, and NONE of them were sexually abused except for one but that was after he was already sexually active with men. And the porn theory really doesn't hold up b/c A LOT of people watched porn from a young age. And I know a lot of gay men who didn't, actually.

Someone needs to go back to school, you can't have a "wrong" point of view. That's called an opinion. Only a fact can be right or wrong.

I don't agree with you, but you have a valid argument against homosexuality. Just like I have a valid one for it. I don't give a hoot what you think about me, because by the post in my other thread, you're just a bitter little girl, anyway. When you want to have an adult conversation, come at me.

ohhh you! I can tell were gonna be best friends already! :D

I am little im only 5'4 (well sometimes 5'4 and a half, my mom says im tall though, however i dont really think she knows what shes talking about since shes really short)

but waaaaaait a minute, if im little and im 27, and your only 19.. doesnt that make you a baby??

p.s. Quit bein so overly sensitive, if you cant debate without attmepting to insult people then you should probably stop debating.

Its been real.. PEACE!

so if they accept god its all ok?

If one accepts God, that is, receives the Spirit of truth, through faith in Jesus Christ; then yes, all is okay. Even better than okay, because that one has been taken out of the kingdom of darkness, and made alive in the kingdom of light, the kingdom of Jesus Christ.

But did you not see the real point? Who are we to judge? God is the judge, period.

It works like this: until one comes to Christ and receives life and the truth by the Spirit, they are already dead. They are already judged. They are already condemned. And it does not matter how much good they have done, nor how little evil. It is a matter of who you live for and in and with, who you love.

No one loves God starting out. And if we saw Him, we would shrink away from Him in shame, because He is incredibly majestic in appearance. And He is perfect, in His holiness and in His purity and in His love. (I see the images Hollywood tries to sell about alien beings who are somewhat majestic and so far above us humans, and they haven't got a clue, and will be truly shocked at God appearance, how much greater He is than the best of their imagination.)

But when we have our eyes opened, our ears healed, our hearts made alive, we find that we do love God, because He gifts us with His love, for each other and for Him.

So, your answer is partly right, but not completely.

I'm on vacation, but I did see this article today and thought I just had to share it in light of the present discussion (the text is a link):

STRATEGIES OF THE HOMOSEXUAL MOVEMENT: "The Overhauling of Straight America"

An "abstract" of what it's about:

"The following article titled "The Overhauling of Straight America'' was written by Marshall K. Kirk and Erastes Pill and appeared in Guide Magazine, a homosexual publication, in November 1987. This landmark article has become a "bible" of the homosexual movement, and has since been widely re-published on the Internet and elsewhere. It outlines strategies and techniques for a successful widespread propaganda campaign to confuse and deceive the American people and demonize opponents. Like all propaganda, their methods are based not on solid intellectual arguments, but instead upon emotional manipulation of the public in an attempt to gain widespread sympathy and approval for homosexual behavior.

As you read this, keep in mind that it was written in 1987 -- less than two decades ago -- and look around to see how far the homosexual movement has gotten using these techniques.... Two years after "The Overhauling of Straight America" appeared, the book "After the Ball -- How America will conquer its fear and hatred of Gays in the 1990's", by Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen, was published. After the Ball expanded on these ideas, largely from the standpoint of psychological manipulation and persuasion tactics of Americans toward the homosexual cause, complete with sample print ads to use, as well as suggestions for radio and TV spots.

What's so interesting about the article is that as you read their strategy you can see it mirrored by the pro-homosexuals on this website. I even considered doing a point by point comparison, quoting some of the article's recommended strategy and then quoting one of the pro-homosexuals on this website using that same strategy. Obviously I don't think any of the pro-homosexuals on this website have read this play-book, yet the fact that their arguments mirror the play-book shows how closely the homosexual community has itself followed the play-book and just how successful they have been.

To give just two examples:

Example 1 -

From the play-book:

"...the mainstream should be told that gays are victims of fate, in the sense that most never had a choice to accept or reject their sexual preference."

From Prinkas16 on this thread:

"Alsooo it has been scientifically proven that there is a chemical in the gay persons brain which works a little differently, so it isnt a choice so im sure god'll understand ; )"

Now keep in mind that the article was written in 1987 way before they had any proof that people are born gay and, thus, don't have a choice. Earlier in the thread (in response to Prinkas16) I gave a journal article demonstrating that we still have no proof that people are born gay, so they certainly didn't know this in 1987. Yet they already knew where they wanted to go with their propaganda campaign. They knew they could have more success if gayness wasn't a choice and so that's what they set out to do. Despite the fact that they haven't been able to prove this, they have still been successful in selling the idea.

Example 2 -

From the play-book:

"Our campaign should not demand direct support for homosexual practices, should instead take anti-discrimination as its theme."

From FSUboy on this thread:

"A law blocking gay marriage discriminated us..."

And, finally, I'd like to pat myself on the back for being right about conditioning aspect. I'd pointed out several times in not so many words the following:

"...the attempt for Christians to accept homosexuality is a recent phenomena of our modern culture... our moral attitudes can be greatly affected by cultural upbringing... it's most[ly] cultural conditioning. Over time we have adopted the general ethic that only things like murder deserve the death penalty and even that only on certain occasions.... Our affections can be dulled by the impression that the offender is "such a nice person" and by the surrounding culture and our public education, which drill it into our heads that there is nothing wrong with homosexuality. A lot of Christians who have grown up in this culture have accepted the ethics and affections of the culture.

And the first things the article mentions is:

The first order of business is desensitization of the American public concerning gays and gay rights. To desensitize the public is to help it view homosexuality with indifference... At least in the beginning, we are seeking public desensitization and nothing more.

**pat, pat** carry on...

NodMyHead - You started in on me, sweetie, not the other way around. Don't get it twisted.

Credo - Um. Of course those are major arguments... Because they're TRUE. That's like saying "Of course Christians would use the Bible to prove Jesus existed..." Really? And you took my words out of context COMPLETELY. I wasn't talking about homosexuals being discriminated against. I was talking about religions and Christian sects that WANT to practice and celebrate gay marriage. Which, if you block gay marriage, it IS discriminating against us. Separation of Church and State.

I think the church as a right to discrimminate under its own jurisdiction, that is, if someone wants a marriage to be sanctified by the church, it must first be approved by them. I don't agree with their views, but its their perogative, and my perogative to use my belief system should someone need my help.

The state however, shouldn't discrimminate when it comes to state recognized marriages.

@ FSUBoy966, I'm not going to debate with you, cause I can already see people have continuously brought up the arguments against homosexuality I would have. So all that's left is prayer. I will be praying for your clouded judgement on God's word and what it says of homosexuality. I would also like to invite others to pray also. Our knowledge and wisdom of God's word is nothing unless God moves in it. If God's not moving in it, it's just a load of words that causes prolonged debates that drag on. Hence why such a basic doctrine of the bible has taken 8 pages of posts and some people are still non the wiser. Rather than ganging up on FSUBoy966 pray for him. Did we receive and understand God's word the way we have it today with the method that you are using on him now? No of course not, bombarding him with the same things over and over will only cause him to grip harder onto the ground he's already on. Pray, Pray, Praaay for him.

Oh of course. I don't think a church should EVER have to perform something it doesn't agree with.

why do you keep posting this question? Sounds like you have a hiddeen creeping agenda!

IN God's eyes its wrong. We should still love them...hate the sin not the sinner

Honestly, I'm indifferent. If you want to get married, in a civil ceremony is good, but not in a church

I posted this question last spring, I can't believe people are still replying, ha.

Well I fought homosexuality for awhile then gave in to it and called myself gay/bisexual for awhile. But when I found God I fought it and when I was out of it I felt free and in God's love. I still love gays and bi's, I have plenty of friends who are tht way, but I'm never gonna turn back to that because it's not what God wants. :)

We are all guilty of sin. It is a sin for two dudes to do it, but it's also a sin for two unmarried people of the opposite sex to do it. As far as God's concerned, all sin is equally sinfull. It's not like lying's a 2 on the sin scale, and murder's a 10. On a scale of 1-10, every sin is an equal 11. Now, being gay isn't exactly the same as homosexuality. Homosexuality is the sin itself. Being gay is just the temptation to comit the sin. Being straight, I'm tempted to sin with girls, but I don't. If a homosexual refrained from their temptations, they would not be sinning.

Just a quick correction. Homosexuality can be an act of OR simply a state of having sexual desires for someone of the same sex.

Gay and homosexual are synonymous when referring to same sex attraction.

Good for you, brother. Good for you. :)
