What delights the Creator? (Part 1).

• Pro 21:3 -> “To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.”.

About the sacrifice, the Holy Scripture is clear:

• Pro 15:8 -> “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him.”.

Considering that all of us are sinners (Rom 3:9), therefore no sacrifice is delightful to the Creator. So much so that no sacrifice could redeem us from the sin:

• Heb 10:4 -> “For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.”.

The Creator was clear about what is delightful to Him:

1 – to obey His voice:

• 1Sa 15:22 -> “And Samuel said, “Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.”.

2 – steadfast love and to know Him more and more intimately:

• Hos 6:6 -> “For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.”.

3 – To do justice, to love kindness and to walk humbly with Him:

• Mic 6:6-8 -> “With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?” He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?”.
• Amo 5:21-24 -> “ “I hate, I despise your feasts, and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies. Even though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them; and the peace offerings of your fattened animals, I will not look upon them. Take away from me the noise of your songs; to the melody of your harps I will not listen. But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.

So, have a good day knowing Jesus better and better so that you can really please His heart and don’t be surprised as the workers of the iniquity in Matthew 7:21-23 and Luke 13:23-28.

Tomorrow we will carry on.
