What delights the Creator? (Part 2).

As we saw, the Creator don’t delight in sacrifices (and this includes the fast):
• Isa 58:5 -> “Is such the fast that I choose, a day for a person to humble himself? Is it to bow down his head like a reed, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and a day acceptable to the LORD?”.
Take heed at what He considers to be the true fast:
1. to loose the bonds of wickedness;
2. to undo the straps of the yoke;
3. to let the oppressed go free;
4. to break every yoke;
5. to share your bread with the hungry;
6. to bring the homeless poor into your house;
7. to cover the naked;
8. not to hide yourself from your own flesh.
• Isa 58:6,7 -> “ “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?”.
9. to pour yourself out for the hungry;
10. to satisfy the desire of the afflicted.
• Isa 58:10 -> “if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.”.
11. To come into the resting of the Creator (Hebrews 4:1,9-11), which isn’t only one day in a week (as it was in the Old Testament), but ever.
• Isa 58:13 -> “If you turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day, and call the Sabbath a delight and the holy day of the LORD honorable; if you honor it, not going your own ways, or seeking your own pleasure, or talking idly;”.
That is to say, as it is said in Luke 9:23, we need to be crucified with Christ (as Paul – Galatians 6:14) so that Jesus can live in us (Gal 2:20). After all, our true life is hidden with Him (Col 3:3), as well as our true reward (Isaiah 49:4).
So, have a good day denying yourself so that you can rest in the good, perfect and delightful will of Jesus for you (Rom 12:2) and Jesus can manifest through you.
