This thread is about "misunderstanding someone" from the ever popular "love struck" mentality of first meeting someone and completely "not understanding" what someone says because of "nerves" or not "paying attention".
Here's how this thread works...
1.A person says something "serious" that they might say when first meeting someone.
2.The person "responding" answers with a "silly" take on what the "serious" sounding person said.
3.This doesn't have to be focused on the whole first glance love thing but also on first meeting someone in general.

(not quite what I was looking for...but gave you rep anyhow for the effort perhaps I should give an example...)
Do you work out?(serious/nervous person)=I don't have gout!(what person heard while not particularly paying attention)
 
If it is... (umm, i'm new in a school and all the cafe's table are occupied and i really need to eat and bla bla.. i'm really bad at making stuff up) uh, hi, can i seat here?
