What do we look forward to evangelize for (Part 1)?
• “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he who takes souls is wise.” (Pro 11:30).
This verse is clear: those who take lives (souls) are wise. Nonetheless, when we evangelize, what are we hoping for?
1 – Blessings of the Creator?
2 – Buy our salvation?
3 – To satisfy our self? (in virtue of our realizations).
4 – To ingratiate ourselves with people around us (as we can see in Acts 7:47)?
5 – To conquest acceptance in the religious institution that we attend?
6 – To occupy our time with something that can make our life to add up? (occupational therapy).
Our aim ought to be take lives, attract lives around us so that our branch can bear fruit, many fruit (John 15:8):
• “That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of Life, *that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, so that you also may have fellowship with us* . And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.” (1John 1:1,3).
Understand: each person that eats of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in our life, certainly will stay close to us inasmuch as who eats of the Bread of Life never will be hungry (such as the one who drinks of the Living water never will be athirst again – John 4:13,14). Such person will be one with us (Rom 12:5; Eph 4:25).
If we stay stalwart in Jesus’ Word, more people will be part of our life. This will make of us a tree of life, where Jesus is the root, we are the trunk and every people that Jesus granted us, a branch of ours.
Perhaps you are questioning: “but Jesus said”:
• “I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (Joh 15:5).
Yeah! We are a branch that is made up of other branches, which bear flower, leaves and fruits. So, each one of us end up being a tree inside the Great Tree of Life (Jesus Christ) as we can see in Revelation 22:2.
