There is actually many more scripture to back up "sleeping" . Not the most popular theory though. However I believe what the Bible says ;)
 
Correct Laodicea, "...the dead know not anything" (Eccl. 9:4) because---their "...thoughts perish" (Psalm 146:4). This is why Paul, in 1 Thess. 4:13-15, describes the "dead in Christ" as, not in heaven, but "asleep," and no less than three times. Scripture does not teach the immortal soul go to heaven type doctrine of dispensational, Catholic and other interpretations. Keep up the good work.
