The world is sick. This is the reason I only eat biological meat.

There are probably horrific truths behind many industries. A particular popular brand of shoesI wont mention the name... They are made in Vietnamese sweat shops.. I would not pay a dime for a pair of those shoes...

It's terrible. I don't want to eat meat anymore. Although the kosher way to eat meat is okay.

Out of curiosity, how many of you have actually touched a steer?

And im gonna go ahead and keep ignoring it so i can keep eating meeaaaaaatt!! ;)

To be honest this video is unbelievably biased...

I have personally been to a farm and it was nothing like that. I know it happens but seriously... what can we do?

Also... I laughed at the catch at then end ... ''chooseveg.com'' Wow... in their dream world we would all be dead... try tell a starving kid in Africa not to eat a nice burger.

who aver said this was about barns...i know barns take care of their animals, but most of big companies are cruel with animals (mass producing companies)

yeah i understand but like i said before, money makes people do many cruel things for it...i dont mine a farm killing a cow for its meat...but decapitating a cow alive or choking chicks with a gas to a painful death its wrong. i can even compare it to what hitler did with the Jews, not as sever but its's still wrong

Take that up with the FDA. I recall asking my dad several years ago when we had visited a meat locker where some of our Hogs were butchered, why they hung them up by the toes, and why they slit the throats... I don't recall the end of the answer, but it started.. "The FDA requires..."

What about OT sacrifices? Were those wrong too?

"Baby lambs! God is as bad as the video you posted! " Not how I feel about the issue, but if the video is so cruel, God apparently is by those same standards.

I did click the link. Just because I'm not as affected as you doesn't mean I skipped over it. It could be an indicator that I understand more about what's going on in the video, and didn't have as much of an emotional reaction.

I can't explain all of the video, and I thought about doing this when you posted it but I figured you wouldn't like me doing so...

Before I start, Animal Cruelty is wrong. So the only question left is, "Are the events in the video cruel?"

Gotquestions said:
Animal cruelty should not take place if men truly understand the command to be “caretakers” of the earth. We are to control the numbers of animals so disease and sickness do not kill them off; we are to use the animals for our needs; we are to control animals in a manner in which they are not harmful to humans; and finally we should protect them from over-killing and abuse. The problem lies in the fact that many do not understand this balance and tend to over-protect or under-protect animals. Animals were created for us to enjoy, so protecting a remnant for others to enjoy is also proper. Proverbs 12:10 tells us, "A righteous man cares for the needs of his animal, but the kindest acts of the wicked are cruel."

Castration - The removal of the testicals

Castration is one of the various things we did with our hogs and cattle. There are multiple reasons for this. If you eat beef, and would prefer that it have the consistancy of shoe leather, then by all means keep the testicals on the animal. Testosterone toughens muscle, which your hamburger and your pork chop is beef/pork muscle. It also makes it a lot easier for the farmer. Male animals with in-tact testicals, are much more aggressive. I'll let you decide between having livestock castrated, or having farmer John Mauled.

Also...

Pork that gives off “boar taint”, when it is heated, is not suitable for usage as fresh
meat for human consumption. Extensive study has shown that boar taint is a real problem.
Research with panels of consumers has shown that pork from boars gives off an unpleasant
odour and flavour more often than pork from female pigs or castrated boars. Boar taint is
less of a problem if boars are slaughtered before they are sexually mature.

The video may not have mentioned it, but cutting off the tips of the chicken beaks prevents cannibalism.

Not a fan of the crammed cages.

Killing the Holstein calves is a waste.

Horns Removal - This is something we did, and I witnessed this personall several times. It's not always nice to watch, but for the most part the vet we used was pretty skilled, and the cattle never seemed to notice. I remarked to my father yesterday about having watched your video, "I can't believe how many city people seem to think milk comes from the grocery store.." According to him, the removal of the horns in is done in the United States, primarily for two reasons...

In English breeds, the horns grow in a direction that when two males start fighting, the horns can pierce the skull of the other male, and kill one, if not both. So in many cases, the removal of the horns is a preventive measure. Also, it's very hard to round up steers who can fight back with horns.

Killing Runt Pigs - This is something I never had to witness in person. My father however had to a couple times. When asked, his attitude changes. If that's telling of anything. The killing of the runt pig, is in most cases a preventive measure, or one of mercy. Most runt pigs are born too far behind (hence, runt) and will die due to starvation. However, often they cause the death of other piglets, and entire litters. How this goes about is, the sow lays down and throws out the dinner table, the little piglets come up and get some dinner. The runt pig often get's pushed out by the other piglets, or is too weak to get a teat. The runt will then squeel and squeel... and squeel.. eventually the sow will become freightened, think a piglet is under attack... She will jump to her feet, and spin in a circle looking for the predator. In the process, trampling and killing the other piglets. Relativistic ethics, sure.. Killing one to save six.

Just to give you an example of the size difference, and how easy it is to crush a piglet...

The sow sat on the piglet, and as you can see it had hind leg issues, and likely internal issues as well. Now image a sow spinning in circles with a bunch of piglets underneath it. I'll let you chose.

Feed lots are going to be where your atrocities occur. This is because the small-farmer can't afford to lose his livestock. We immunized and cared for our sheep, cattle, and hogs like they were family.

If you feel something is unsatisfactory, please make note of it so I can respond.

Much of what is occuring in the video, occurs on small-farms too. I gave personal examples of that.

EDIT: I don't question God's motives, to know why he would need a lamb, a pig, a duck, or a turtle... With the lamb though, I personally see it as foreshadowing events to come.

This wasn't my primary concern though, because the point you were trying to make by posting the video, and the thread title... was that these things are so incredibly terrible...

pshhhh....i guess you cant think for yourself huh? lamb is the representation of Christ, as we all know, it has to be perfect since Christ was perfect...but why a year old?? ever thought why?? its a fairly easy answer....the lamb is cute and adorable, and how would you feel if this innocent lamb has to die because of your sins...God, forgive me if im wrong, but i believe he chose a year old lamb so the sinner would feel compassion for the lamb and never sin again

you didnt click the link

youre right i didnt. because i honestly dont care. as long as the meat on my plate is delicious then someone somewhere did their job and something somewhere else served its purpose. And im happy.

i wont waste my time with trash...but i hope you understand that what we do to animals is done in some countries to humans for the same exact reasons, money and power...such as the zetas and the genocide in any African nations...its wrong to assume, but i bet you wouldnt know of either because as long as your stupid happiness (which really isnt) is not hung by a thread you dont care
