What do you like?
• “An astounding and horrible thing has happened in the land. The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so, and what will you do at the end of it? ” (Jer 5:30,31).
More than two thousand years passed and the history didn’t change and, unfortunately, won’t change. On the contrary: will get worse:
• “For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear. And they will turn away their ears from the truth and will be turned to myths.” (2Ti 4:3,4).
And the gist is quoted by Paul:
• Know this also, that in the last days grievous times will be at hand. For men will be self-lovers, money-lovers, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, unyielding, false accusers, without self-control, savage, despisers of good, traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness, but denying the power of it; even turn away from these.” (2Ti 3:1-5).
And what about us? There are only two ways to choose:
1 - “Yea, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” (2Ti 3:12).
2 - “But evil men and seducers will go forward to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2Ti 3:13).
May Jesus strengthen us to persevere in the first way so that we can be saved of the forthcoming wrath (Matthew 24:13; 1Thessalonians 1:10). After all, those who have pleasure in their evil works are under these condemnations:
• “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, so that all those who do not believe the truth, but delight in unrighteousness, might be condemned.” (2Th 2:11,12).
• “And this is the condemnation, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, lest his deeds should be exposed.” (John 3:19,20).
So, have a marvelous day rejoicing in the Creator and in His salvation (as Hannah – 1Samuel 2:1), even if, for a short time, we need to go through bad moments (Romans 8:18; 2Cor 4:16-18). After all:
• “If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” (2Tim 2:12).
