I just read about her today. Have any of you heard about her? I know that many religions add to the Bible, creating their own books, and though they claim they are factual and true, mostly they are fictional and fantasy. I read about her and thought, Hmmm, they referenced an added book earlier in the small blurt...is she made up, too? I looked her up. Here's one site I found:

What are your thoughts regarding this? Not in regards to a Biblical book or anything, but in regards to her story. Do you think it's true? I get the impression that it is a glorified story, told as an example, especially since they made her a saint and have a prayer to pray to her.
 
That would be a mighty sparse church, yes? :)

It is interesting that they call her a martyr, when she died peacefully at 90 in her cell/cave, though...
 
Hmmm...I guess so. I would think being ripped apart by lions, boiled alive in hot oil, burned at the stake, beaten on the rack, nailed to a cross, dragged to death by horses, stoned to death...etc. would constitute more martyrdom than dying in a cave...but I haven't really studied the word.

According to her 'story', they did try to kill her a few times and one man wanted to rob her of her chastity...so, I guess based on persecution, she's a martyr?

It is an interesting story. I just wonder how much of it is true and how much is made up in order to create a saint.
 
Sure the story is interesting, but I don't think it's anything more than that, fiction. It reads like outlandish fiction, the Bible doesn't (although, it does have strange moments). If this story were true, I think the New Testament would've mentioned her. This seems to be just another page in the long saga of 'lost' gospels and 'hidden' secrets in Church history.
