First of all and most importantly a Woman of God serves God with her whole heart, mind, and soul. She looks for His will for her life and follows His ways.

  • [*=1]She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Proverbs 31:26
[*=1]Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:29-31
[*=1]Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37
[*=1]If you love me, keep my commands. John 14: 15

A Woman of God respects her husband. She does him good all the days of her life. She is trustworthy and a helpmeet.

  • [*=1]Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. Proverbs 31:11-12
[*=1]Her children arise and call her blessed;her husband also, and he praises her. Proverbs 31:28
[*=1]The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 2:18

A Woman of God teaches her children the ways of her Father in heaven. She nurtures her children with the love of Christ, disciplines them with care and wisdom, and trains them in the way they should go.

  • [*=1]Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6
[*=1]But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Luke 18:16

A Woman of God cares for her body. She prepares healthy food for her family.

  • [*=1]She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar. She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants. Proverbs 31:14-15
[*=1]Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 1 Corinthians 6:19
[*=1]And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food.
    [*=1]Genesis 1:29

A Woman of God serves her husband, her family, her friends, and her neighbors with a gentle and loving spirit. She is charitable.

  • [*=1]She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. Proverbs 31:20
[*=1]And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13

A Woman of God works willingly with her hands. She sings praises to God and does not grumble while completing her tasks.

  • [*=1]She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. Proverbs 31:13
[*=1]Do all things without complaining and disputing Philippians 2:14
[*=1]She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants. Proverbs 31:24

A Woman of God is a homemaker. She creates an inviting atmosphere of warmth and love for her family and guests. She uses hospitality to minister to those around her.

  • [*=1]She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:27
[*=1]to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Titus 2:5
[*=1]Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. Hebrews 13:2

A Woman of God uses her time wisely. She works diligently to complete her daily tasks. She does not spend time dwelling on those things that do not please the Lord.

A Woman of God is a woman of worth and beauty. She has the inner beauty that only comes from Christ. She uses her creativity and sense of style to create beauty in her life and the lives of her loved ones.

A father decides how his daughters are to be while under his roof. The heavenly Father also requires things in his love and wisdom.

A woman is NOT to dress in a revealing manner. The Christian standard until relatively recently has been long dresses. No breast showing below the neck line.

The NT shows that long hair on a woman is a glory to her. But on a man long hair is a shame. It is understood by the context, that inversely, short hair on a woman is also a shame.

No gold or pearls or fancy or costly clothing, obviously in the context of deliberately standing out for attention. So this is not "you can wear a little, but not too much". This is the Father's prohibition on gold, pearls etc.

No braided or otherwise hair. The instructions about long hair emphasizes that the hair serves as a godly covering, which has spiritual significance. The long hair on a woman represents her willing heart to submit as all Christians are to submit to Christ, whether male or female. All Christian are to walk 'covered'. The church as a whole, both male and female, being paralled as a woman, a chaste virgin at that, is to be desirous to please her husband and be helpful, loving, caring, submissive; 'covered', by being under her head, who is Christ.

Here's a good example...

Luke 10:38-42King James Version (KJV)

38*Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39*And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

40*But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.

41*And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

42*But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

So, pretty much DEAD?

dead to the world, yes.

like sarah, rachel, abigail, ruth, martha , mary and all the other women of faith in the bible. and the list above of the few faithful women in the last 100 years or so.

rare.

called and chosen by yahweh.

I'm a woman of God and have many faults. Just because I sometimes get angry with my husband or fault-finding, or at times even confrontational doesn't make me any less a woman of God. I don't always use my time wisely and I find myself actually complaining sometimes.

What makes me a woman of God is that I have accepted His unconditional love for me even with all my imperfections. I have received grace to cover my sinful nature. Which, only makes me love Him all the more. I just can't stop praising Him for His undeserved favor and blessings which follow me every day.

I try greatly with the help of the Holy Spirit to live a life pleasing to Him, but isn't it marvelous that He leaves room for error?

But I think He would just love my tacos!

dead to the world, yes.

dead period by your definition.....................and you are saying that a woman is ONLY a woman of God IF she abides by YOUR standard?

There isn't a man alive (including you or me) that could live to the standard you put forth...........BUT, HEY, DEM EVIL WOMENS GOTTA!

Huh? That about it?

Our works do not make us a woman of God, and all those wonderful women of the bible I'm sure had many of their own faults. The Proverbs woman is an "ideal" - gives all of us something to think about - but it is not very down to earth. Her good points were pointed out. Not her humanity in all of its nature.
