What does it strengthen us to suppress the infirmity?
• Pro 18:14 -> “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?”.
When we get sick, the first thing that most of the people do is to seek a doctor and ingest medicines. Nonetheless, take a look at the verse below:
• Pro 17:22 -> “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”.
As Nehemiah said, the joy of the Creator is our strength (Neh 8:10). On the other hand, if He is angry at us, His “arrows” can dry us:
• Ps 32:3,4 -> “When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.”.
• Job 6:4 -> “For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.”.
It’s truth that, many times, the vicissitudes of the life overwhelm us:
• Psa 55:5 -> “Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.”.
But, instead of despair or seeking solace in the man (which is vain – Ps 60:11), let’s trust in the Creator
• Psa 42:11 -> “Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”.
So, the beginning of your healing (for any disease) starts in the spirit. Therefore, have a good day receiving of the power and virtue of the Creator in your spirit (see 1Cor 2:4,5), so that you can get over your illness and become a consolation for those who are undergoing some bad situation (2Cor 1:3-5; 1Pe 5:8,9).
