In spite of the fact that the Bible has much to say about eternal life, and what is said is quite plain, we see that many are still confused about this matter, while many others hold false beliefs about eternal life. But here is what the Bible says:

1. GOD PROMISED ETERNAL LIFE TO MEN

2. THE JEWS BELIEVED THEY COULD EARN OR INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE

3. ETERNAL LIFE IS A GIFT OF GOD’S GRACE

4. THE GOSPEL OF JOHN FOCUSES ON ETERNAL LIFE

5. THE GOSPEL MESSAGE PRESENTS THE OFFER OF ETERNAL LIFE

6. THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE IS GIVEN TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE ON CHRIST

7. BELIEVING ON CHRIST IS MORE THAN SIMPLE MENTAL ASSENT

8. THE LORD JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF IS ETERNAL LIFE

9. YOU CANNOT LOSE ETERNAL LIFE

10. BUT YOU MUST “LOSE” YOUR LIFE AFTER YOU RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE

11. THE UNREPENTANT DO NOT RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE

12. BELIEVERS MUST WALK IN THE SPIRIT AND CRUCIFY THE FLESH

13. GOD DOES NOT ELECT SOME FOR ETERNAL LIFE AND NEGLECTS OTHERS

Very true. Carry our cross daily. Everyone has the opportunity.

I would challenge item 12, that believers must crucify the flesh. When you relate flesh to sin, I agree. But God created a beautiful world to supply us abundantly when we free ourselves of sin. We are given joy.

The men who taught the Colossians saying you must only acknowledge things of the spirit were told they were wrong.

Col. 2:20 If you have died with Christ to the spiritual forces of the world, why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its regulations: 21“Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!”? 22 These will all perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.…

In the Lord's Prayer we are told to ask for our daily bread. Scripture tells us we are fed both the body and spirit.

John 5:24 - Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

13 statements of Nehmiah6's imagination without scripture backup. Are we supposed to take your word to be truth?

I have all the Scriptural backup which I need for every statement.

Now it is up to you to provide Scriptures which REFUTE what I have stated.

Then you have failed to see that the Bible says about this.

And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (Gal 5:24)

I quoted what the bible says about "this". We are ti crucify the lusts and affections of the flesh, do you actually think that means we aren't to enjoy anything God gives us for the flesh like good eating and seeing God's beautiful land like the Grand Canyon?

These spiritual people told the Colossians they shouldn't enjoy the feasts or any fleshly things, they were told to not let anyone tell them they shouldn't.

Eternal life and Immortality are not synonymous, viz: they are not two ways
to say the same thing. The two are juxtaposed in 2Tim 1:10; where the
terms are connected with a conjunction. They aren't connected with a verb,
so that you can't say eternal life is immortality; no, eternal life and
immortality are two distinctly different subjects.

According to John 5:26 and 1John 1:1-2, Jesus had eternal life; but it didn't
prevent his death on the cross.

And according to John 6:54, the apostles had eternal life too; but it didn't
prevent their demise either. They're all gone.

.
Note the grammatical tense of the statement below; it's present tense rather
than future, indicating that when people correctly eat and drink the Lord's
flesh and blood, they obtain eternal life immediately-- no delay and no
waiting period.

● John 6:54 . .Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life

The right-now possession of eternal life is very crucial because according to
God's testimony, as an expert witness in all matters pertaining to
Christianity; people lacking eternal life don't have God's son. In other words:
they are currently quite christless.

● 1John 5:11-12 . . This is what God has testified: He has given us eternal
life, and this life is in His son. So whoever has God's son has this life; and
whosoever does not have this life, does not have His son.

.
The Bible says that Adam was made a sentient being (Gen 2:7). God is a
sentient being too. However, God wasn't made a sentient being because God
is an eternal being; viz: God always was, He always is, and He always shall
be.

● 1John 1:1-3 . . That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,
which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands
have touched-- this we proclaim concerning the word of life. The life
appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the
eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.

I think that most Christians would readily agree that the passage I quoted is
about the Word spoken of in the very first chapter of John's gospel; which of
course means that Christ, though a human being, is also an eternal being,
i.e. he's the eternal life spoken of in 1John 1:3.

"I am the life" (John 11:25 and John 14:6, cf. John 1:4)

Some of Christ's teachings about eternal life are very difficult to
comprehend; but we mustn't give up trying to understand him because it's
like the apostle Peter said "To whom shall we go? You have the words of
eternal life." (John 6:68)
