I like this thread, I hope soon people will tell us. My grandson who models gets up at 4:30 every morning, now he is not modeling full time but has an 8 to 5 job, so he can get in two hours at the gym before work.

I had to go to bed when I was 85, my leg had to always stay elevated. Six months later, when I tried to get up, I had no muscles and old bodies won't grow muscles very well. I went to bed a capable woman, got up an elderly one needing help, altho I was mostly healthy all the time! I push and push myself, and it is slow, hard going.

I think exercise is as about the most important health maintenance system there is.

5 kilometers on a treadmill. Exercise certainly is of value. :)

My dad, 11-year-old, and I walked for about 3 (maybe more) miles when this was posted. Pushing a stroller and carrying a couple feather-weight grocery bags helped with the workout. My son was also riding his ripstick, so he got some hip-moving done as well.

We all had a good time also.

Rode my bike...
although in the Netherlands that's not considered exercise, but just a way to get from A to B.

I asked for a treadmill for Christmas. Instead I got a KitchenAid mixer. I am going to bake a cake now....

Rode my bike to the store a couple miles away. Rode home with toilet paper hanging off my handle bar. Rode earlier with my dog. It's my day off :) I like to ride some everyday and take my dog.

I was SO impressed! I walked on a sidewalk painted pink in my ignorance. I couldn't speak your language, but did I ever learn that meant bikes only. And bike riding isn't just for the young, every age rides a bike with a bouquet of flowers and a loaf of bread to take home in a basket on the front of the bike. How anyone can find their bike among the thousands parked at the train stations is beyond my understanding. I think bikes and the beautiful amaryllis in every window that grows twice the size of those in America are almost as good to see as our Rocky Mountains.

For the last 9 years, since I got off my Rheumatoid Arthritis bed, I have been stretching, doing weights and most of all bicycling.

I ride outdoors in summer, up to 35 km at a time. In winter, I ride in the basement, and I am back up to an hour, after a med change and a damaged knee interfered with my ability to cycle.

I agree wholeheartedly that God created our bodies to move. It is very dishonoring to God to sit around and do nothing, watching TV or always on the computer.

My husband does nothing with his body, although he is totally healthy. Yesterday, I asked him to switch bodies with me, since he wasn't planning on doing anything with his healthy body. I am in constant pain with deformities, but exercising can be done, even under the most difficult of circumstances. I just wish I had a healthy body, so I could take up competitive cycling or something. Or even be able to swim or ski or walk again.

Keep working out everyone!
