That's great you referenced Genesis 1:26. You are referencing the "creation" of male and female in the same image and likeness as the creator. After God has [created] men and women. Later God "forms" Adam from the dust of the ground and breathed the breath of life and he became a living soul." Those with ears let them hear. The wisdom of God to purposely distinguish between creation in the image and likeness of himself. And afterwards forming man from the dust of the ground. Can you say man versus mankind?

There is not one single scripture in the Gospel where Jesus teaches about the trinity! However you will see Paul teaching and spreading the message of the trinity. But I choose to follow in the footsteps of the master. There is only 1 God!

Christian just means follower of Christ. And to follow the word of God is about as far as I would take religion. Some things are mandatory, some things are a matter of concious. Christians really have a lot of freedom within this. If we realized that, instead of judging one another so harshly, we would find much more unity. Though, some beliefs are fundamentally non Christian and we should not put up with those. I would say the Gosple is the main non negotiable doctrine. Some would consider the trinity a non negotiable too, though im still unsure of that. Ideally I would see the trinity as absolutely necessary though.

God says "let us make man in our image", us being the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, who we can see within the creation narrative. Genesis 1:2, Col 1:6

Jesus himself taught that he and the Father were one, but it is obvious that they are not the same. Jesus also taught the he, himself was God. As for the Holy Spirit, we can see Him aid in Jesus's ministry, though Jesus doesnt directly reference him often, but we do see them both within the creation narrative. God including them within himself, "let's make man in our image"

Paul was inspired by your Master, the Scripture being written by God himself through man. Paul did not come up with his own ideas, but wrote those which God gave him. 2 Timothy 3:16

Would you apply the same standards to Moses? Moses wrote much of the OT, he himself is not God. Neither is any humanly body God used to inspire/write the scripture Himself.

If you only believe in what Jesus taught directly out of his mouth, youll have a very narrow view of scripture. Not only that, the words written down were not by Jesus himself, but his disciples wrote them. Why believe them?

What im highlighting, is that your logic seems flawed friend. I understand you want to follow God faithfully, and thats commendable. Can you please consider these things?

They carefully recorded what they saw and heard, guided by the Spirit, so that the message could reach people beyond their immediate time and place. While Jesus’ own words are the foundation, the disciples help us understand, preserve, and apply those teachings to life across generations.

So, I don’t rely on the disciples instead of Jesus — I study Jesus’ direct teachings — but I also consider how the Spirit inspired the disciples to communicate and clarify those teachings. Their writings are a bridge for us to access Jesus’ wisdom, especially in areas where context or culture might make direct understanding difficult.”

From my study of the scriptures, Jesus never explicitly taught that God exists as a triune being. The Gospels show Jesus teaching about God the Father, about the Spirit, and about himself, but the formal doctrine of the Trinity comes later through church interpretation, particularly via Paul and early church councils. I choose to follow the direct teachings of Jesus, focusing on the oneness of God and the principle that God manifests through creation, through human beings, and through His word.

This doesn’t diminish the role of Jesus or the Spirit — it’s about understanding God’s unity in a way consistent with Jesus’ message. For me, the Kingdom of God is a state of consciousness, an internal connection, not a hierarchy of three persons.
