Hi Messenger12, is this person a Christian?

If so, has he repented and asked both God and his wife to forgive him?

Thanks!

Every time a Christian sins they committed adultery against God... chose the flesh/satan... what ever over a "marital relationship" the two are one. Now you said gave up on Him? Is that hurting and be restore or was never really saved in the first place? Can be ambiguous.... (gave up on Him). Sorry, not trying to be picky....

He said "'People' gave up on him (not Him)".

One would have to repent of said sin (that is stop doing it) and turn to Jesus to ask for mercy and actually follow Jesus in the way Jesus says. Acts 3:19-23

Proverbs 6:32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
33 A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.

One should not expect the shame of this act to simply be forgotten like it never happened.

Someone once said committing sin is committing high treason against God. Your description hits the bullseye as well.

There was touching and kissing when something else got started it was stopped.

Did it happen only once and he fully admits it and does not do it anymore? Then forget those that have given him over. I am sure God has forgiven him. Just encourage him, in the name of the Lord. View attachment 204482

It is absolutely essential that the repented sinner is really repented and willing to not cheat on their spouses anymore. I know many church goers who go to bed with people other than their spouses and then just say: "Oh Lord, I'm sorry". They claim that the Lord Jesus has already paid for ALL our past and future sins, but here is a difference between sin and sin. We are all sinners, but we are not all adulterers, fornicators, thieves, idolaters, slanderers, liars, etc.

If they are a true Christian then they shall be covered by the Atonement of Jesus and shall be forgiven.. If they are not a true Christian they need to have the Gospel shared with them to give them the opportunity to respond to it..

Marital adultery or spiritual adultery?...

James 4:4 (KJV) Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
