What is better: to be rich or to live by faith (Hab 2:4; Rom 1:17; Gal 3:11; Heb 10:38) (Part 2)?
Such as it was with Israel, it is with us. It is truth that:
The impression that we have is that the money let us to enjoy a quiet, comfortable and copious live, without any annoyance, anxiety, etc., since we can get everything that our soul desire, at any moment, in every place.
Nonetheless, there are three problems:
1 - More the chances to err are. The more are the options to choose, the greater the probability to make a wrong choice. After all, Jesus is THE WAY (and not “the ways” – John 14:6). Therefore, there is only one good choice and woe of us if we opt for the “wrong door”.
Recall that our heart is deceitful and wicked (Jer 17:9). Therefore, we can’t lean in our own understanding (Prov 3:5). Nevertheless, with the door opened, our propensity is to come into it, especially if the door is convenient and alluring.
2 – Ravenousness:
3 – Keep money demands many cares, concerns, etc.
After all, many are the possibilities of losing money:
a – if you put your money in a saving account, the inflation makes the money to lose its value;
b – if you invest the money in a more profitable rent fund, you can lose all your money with the falling of the stock market in virtue of:
* depreciation of the currency;
* some crisis, like this one that we are undergoing;
c – if you leave the money in your house (whether in cash or in foreign currency, jewels, gold, silver, assets in general):
* thieves can steal;
* you can lose it by rust, moth, termites, etc.;
d – if you invest in realties:
* vandals can overthrow them;
* governmental works, phenomena of the nature, etc. can depreciate their value. Not to mention that people can encroach and take possess of what belong to you.
On the other hand, if we have only our manna, that is to say, what we need, in the day, in order to glorify the Creator, overflowing His blessings, grace and truth to people around us, we won’t have to worry about none of the predicaments above.
So, have a prosperous day in Christ Jesus, without fearing to apportion the good measure, pressed down, shaken together an running over blessings that Jesus bestow you through His people (Luke 6:38). After all:
