As for john water baptism people don't know itd a covenant of circumcision. Most are told to water baptize into a religion .John baptism is to clean house Di that The Holy Spirit can abide.without that it's nothing . your just doing man rule like Saul ,ok to protect and kill for God by the law
tell it like it is ,!But the zeal is broken and no excuses circumcision is completed in baptism of the holy spirit . circumcision is 32 save one in the new testament & 6 save one in old Testament

Jesus Did not come to me as promised Savior,He came to me in His full Glory .
I don't need Go back to Their beginning But only reflecth His truth now Their truth as Jesus showed them all truth by his own speech and the by the Holy Spirit within

I will say religion must stop and God back just like the elders they misunderstand the scriptures . Got get to the water in the gospel. Most get the Holy Spirit it's there for authority and Power for all he tells us to do .

From the time of Abraham to Jesus was about 2000 years. Remember the Muslims didn't even exist till after 600 AD
It would be good to specify the timeline you’re talking about. Some people on this forum speak as though it’s true today, which it isn’t.

Idk who is who here? However, yes I agree; they were His people.

Apparently, Muslims are circumcised too, and some groups in Africa circumcise their females.
In the Old Testament era, a number of the local nations practiced circumcision (notably not the Philistines, hence the epithet "uncircumcised Philistines". There are hieroglyphics depicting that Egyptians were circumcised, and after the Israelites were circumcised in Joshua 5 post escape from Egypt, God told Joshua "This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you."

I don't think its accurate to say some African groups circumcise their females. Some do practice Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) which removes the clitoris, an essential part of female anatomy (causing horrific damage), but this is (and always was and will be) totally different from circumcision (and never commanded by God).

True. I came to know this through a course I took in college, albeit horrified. Why I needed to know this, I have no idea!?! I enjoyed the course though.

Forewarned is forearmed, in my opinion. I've found that whatever depths of evil I realise mankind has plumbed or will plumb, there's always something even worse that I just haven't heard of yet. I wondered if the description of FGM as "female circumcision" was originally made to try to associate something good that God does to the hearts of all believers with something cruel and Satanic? It could be me just being overly suspicious, but I do know as a rule that Satan always tries to pervert and destroy what is good - even words.

Now, we christians are still baptized in the water (because it’s commanded), and the Lord Himself circumcises our hearts.

Actually, now Christians signify saving faith/SB via WB, replacing the Jewish rite of PC that Paul said signified the same (Rom. 4:1-25),
and just as PC is no longer required for salvation, neither is WB, although it was expected for a while following Pentecost and is still apt for anyone having a river handy (Acts 2:38, Phil. 3:2-11, Col. 2:11-17, Eph. 4:4-6, 1Cor. 12:13).

If you want to ignore the command to be baptized, this is on you. There are many verses and examples in the NC.
