What lesson is God teaching you right now? What concept or scripture is He causing you to dwell on?

Ephesians 4:2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
1John 4:21 And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also.

I believe the Lord is currently teaching me about patience, and I will trust in His timing and promises. :)
Isaiah 40:31 "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint".

I'm pondering the fruit grown from Mt. Zion compared to the cactus of Mt. Sinai.

Without the Lord we can do nothing.

John 15:5 [SUP] [/SUP]I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

The precious Holy Spirit is amazing without Him there is no Hope in relating or communicating to God or Jesus HE IS The closest one of the God unity now while we race to Heaven and I pray the most intimate and comforting until our redemption when we see Jesus. I love you Holy Spirit for ministering Jesus and the Father to me come down upon us and open our hearts every day in every way.

I been reading the post keeping the commandments; and the one on gifts of the spirit. Can not believe the endless twisted conversation. God has been giving me a real scriptural understanding of the purpose of the OT law and the law written in our hearts, it has been wonderful so has all your answers about god speaking to you.. Also he is leading me to scriptures about the gifts and manifestation of the Spirit we all have and are accountable for ,there work toward each other in the body, and the manifestation of Christ to the world. Praise God for his goodness God is preparing us for a good work, amen

Been struggling in broken, even formerly abusive, marriage for a long time. I won't get into details. Anyways, I felt like God was telling me to love my wife, and to let go of all that stuff she did. To let go, push the reset button, and to start from here forward. I frankly haven't had the heart to this...since I had been trying to work up the courage and praying to get out of this painful relationship...esp since she is still doing some troubling things. Nonetheless, I agreed with what God wanted. I found out this morning that she is pregnant with our eighth kid. Instead of freaking out and regretting bringing another child into this situation, I feel like God is giving me joy and excitement about it. I am learning how to be a man to a very strong willed woman. I am going to have to be a strong person, and as part of the deal of accepting this, I told God that I would need him to fix this whole thing. It is very hard and painful, and my family is still very broken. I feel I've been given some other details, but can't share them now.

Aside from this, I feel like God has been bringing me back into studying the bible. I'm a bit unsettled about getting into the controversies and debates that are being posted this forum. Instead, I just want to begin studying the scriptures again. Rick Warren had a good series on studying the bible on his radio program recently. And I like some of the styles of teaching used David McGee (cross the bridge) and Bob Davis (apply within). Blueletterbible.com is one of my favorite tools.

Lastly, there is a song we recently sang at a celebrate recovery meeting called 'I will change your name'. The words felt like God speaking to me. (EDEN'S BRIDGE - I WILL CHANGE YOUR NAME Lyrics)

Anyways, throse are a couple things going on here. Thanks for asking.

Thankfully, it doesn't appear that all of the topics on here are like that. That's why I wanted to start a threadlike this for people to share what God is doing in their lives. Hopefully, there will be a lot of encouragement and strengthening that comes from it.

And it sounds like you're in a good place. A tough place to be sure, but good nonetheless. And as long as you recognize it is God who has you there and that He wants to teach you through it, and stay diligent, you'll be blessed in it.

shalom!

he's teaching me how to overcome evil. how to face evil and say i love you, how to be patient, he's teaching me what grace is, he's teaching me selflessness,
he is teaching me how to be a child of God, he is teaching me faith

"Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. [SUP]42 [/SUP]For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, [SUP]43 [/SUP]I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ [SUP]44 [/SUP]Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ [SUP]45 [/SUP]Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ [SUP]46 [/SUP]And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matt 25:41:46

The more I do my chaplain ministry, the more I think we have missed the boat in the church in North America. This is about what Christ expects us to do. How many are doing it? I include myself in this. Not works of righteousness, but rather following Christ, and the example he set, as we are transformed into his image. And if we do not care for the poor, the sick, the elderly, the dying, the lost, are we truly hearing the message Christ came to bring?

"And the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was given to him. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovering of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
[SUP]19 [/SUP]to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”

[SUP]20 [/SUP]And he rolled up the scroll and gave it back to the attendant and sat down. And the eyes of all in the synagogue werefixed on him. [SUP]21 [/SUP]And he began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” " Luke 4:18-21

Moreover, only that which does not enter the definition of a thing seems to be outside its essence or quiddity; for the definition signifies what a thing is. But it is only the accidents of a thing that do not fall in the definition; and therefore only the accidents in any thing are outside its essence. But, as will be shown, in God there are no accidents. There is, therefore, nothing in God outside His essence; and hence He is His essence. Furthermore, forms that are not predicated of subsisting things, whether these be considered universally or each is taken singly, are forms that do not subsist through themselves as singulars individuated in themselves. We do not say that Socrates, or man, or animal is whiteness, because whiteness does not subsist as a singular through itself but is individuated through its subsisting subjects. In the same way, also, natural forms do not subsist as singulars through themselves but are individuated in their proper matters. That is why we do not say that this fire, or fire, is its own form. The very essences or quiddities of genera and species are individuated through the designated matter of this or that individual, even though the quiddity of the genus or the species should include common form and matter. That is why we do not say that Socrates or man is humanity. But the divine essence exists through itself as a singular existent and individuated through itself; for, as we have shown, it is not in any matter. The divine essence is predicated of God, therefore, so that we may say: God is His essence.

The Father's Love for me personally in Christ - that obedience comes from wanting to please Him, and doing it freely because of His goodness, and not trying to earn something

Patience and lots of it. Wisdom and discernment.

James 1:2-5
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

1 Corinthians 2: 1-5
And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

2 things
God has been and still is teaching me all about "His Love".
Can I totally forsake myself for others like He did by sending Christ to die for us on the cross.
If I love God can I die to myself and live for God according to His will.
When Christ was on the earth, He did what the Father told him to do and he spoke what the Father told him to say.

God is also teaching me about my mindset. How I need to yield myself to the Holy Spirit so that my mind can be renewed and think of all godly things and not the things of the world. For the world and its desires will pass away but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

It's why Luther threw the Church Sophists in the cylindrical file and went back to what was revealed in Scripture apart from the Greek and Latin philosophical filters.
