What is our trust? (Part 1).
• Pro 18:10,11 -> “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe. A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his imagination. To the righteous man, his trust is the name of the Creator; to the rich, his wealth.”.
To the rich one, not only wealth is his protection, but his guarantee of an easy life, without compromise with anybody or any good thing:
• Luk 12:19-21 -> “And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”.
Well, to be poor is bad:
• Pro 10:15 -> “A rich man's wealth is his strong city; the poverty of the poor is their ruin.”
After all, with material resources, we can be helpful to other people:
• Php 4:18 -> “But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.”.
• Act 20:35 -> “I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.”.
Nonetheless, we need maturity in order to administer the resources that Jesus put in our hand wisely. After all:
• Luk 12:47,48 -> “And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.”.
So, are we prepare to abide by the truth expressed in Revelation?
• Rev 5:12 -> “Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.”.
If yes, have a good day leaving all concerning, doubts, anxieties in Jesus’ hand, certain that He will use His resources that He put in your hands for His glory and the salvation yours and of your family.
