What is our trust? (Part 2)
Continuing the foregoing message:
Only Jesus is worthy of managing every source of power (including wealth). If we don’t deliver all our life to Jesus, we will make the mistake condemned in the book of Job and 1Timothy:
• Job 31:24,25 -> “If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, Thou art my confidence; If I rejoiced because my wealth was great, and because mine hand had gotten much;”.
• Job 31:28 -> “This also were an iniquity to be punished by the judge: for I should have denied the God that is above.”.
• 1Ti 6:9,10 -> “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”
It’s truth that the money has its importance:
• Ecc 7:12 -> “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”.
Nevertheless, in regard to what is most important for us, the money is useless:
• Psa 49:6-8 -> “They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; none of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever
.
And, as Jesus said:
• Mat 16:26 -> “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”.
In the book of proverbs we can read:
• Pro 11:4 -> “Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.”.
In the end, what will determine our destiny isn’t the quantity of our possessions, but how our works is recognized before the Creator:
• Psa 62:10-12 -> “Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them. God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.”.
• Psa 52:5-7 -> “God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah. The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him: lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
So, have a good day allowing Jesus to be your Lord, not only in theory, but in practice, let Him to show wherein to apply all His resources that He trust you (material goods, time, family, health, etc.).
