“Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law:
but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.
There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who art thou that judgest another?
….Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
James 4:11-12, 17 KJV
sin needs to be me personally knowing in my heart I’m not doing what’s right and doing it anyways. Then I have sinned. In other words “whatever is not of faith is sin “ if I am ignorant of something I’m not going to be held to account but only according to my measure of faith.
“And that servant, which knew his Lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.
For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.”
Luke 12:47-48
the more you truly understand of the gospel the more is required of you to walk in those things you now understand some know little and have a lower standard but some have many years growth and have a higher standard it’s personal
We can see a clear distinction of how one will be judged who knows more than another who knows less and also important to consider
“Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.”
James 3:1 NIV
whatever we know is what we will be held accountable for , and how we judge others will be how we are judged
“But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Luke 6:35-38 KJV
that’s going to be our salvation above all else we want to be merciful to those in error and transgression and remind then of repentance and hope
“So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy;
and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
James 2:12-13 KJV
We want to be merciful because we all need mercy at judgement
