it is not easy at all, if it was, the gospel would be readily accepted by many many more people. If anything, their gospel is the easy way, Do some works and your in. Judge others and your in. in fact. most of the worlds religions follow this form of religion, thats why it is so easy.

It's the Pharisees in some sort of instant replay. It diminishes fear of God. To be accountable for your very thoughts, the concept of your righteousness being filthy rags before our Holy God, is too much accountability and too much humility for some egos. Also, some people, something which all cults do, wish to try and control others, enslave others, which, the truth be known, is actually one of the prime characteristics of a psychopath.

funny thing, satan has been using that lie of self righteousness since the beginning, Yet we as a human race are still buying into it, Nothing new.

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.


That He might destroy the works of the devil... Why might? It's our own choices, ( free will ) to come to Christ.

You better than Paul, Peter, Abraham, David and all the other great men of the bible. How does it feal to be so great.

ps. If your just looking to the commands to see what sin is, You need to look further, there are MANY more sins than just ten.. And I would suggest you look closely at your life. I doubt you can go 24 hours without breaking the first command. No one I know can do that, Not even myself.

so was king david of the devil when he sinned. or did God already forgive him before he did it (think closely on this one, you may need to go study it a bit)

How about abraham, did he stop sin when God declared him righteous, or did he still struggle?

sin is of the devil. It is self righteousness (making your own rules and regulations, and rejecting Gods, even if you are doing what God asks.

It mightily tickles ears as, actually, it edifies the ego and reduces fear. People can't stand humiliation or feeling a lack of control, the latter fearful. Fear is at the heart of most conspiracy theories, placing man in control avoiding a fearful admission of the stupidity and blindness of the human race, heading for the abyss: if we just tweak this or that, we'll save ourselves. Yes, we're our own little gods, Satan's disease.
 
I am not trying to judge you. Just trying to get you to look deep inside yourself. and see how still totally worthy of condemnation you are. if you think you have made it Your in deep trouble.

Why do you think I added being in control of myself?
 
Said this in another thread, I think it's appropriate here as well.

The word of God is a " double edged sword " cutting where necessary... The right ones will hear the right words of righteousness and the ones who want to cheat God, will hear the wrong misleading words that will damn them. The word is always right, the hearts of men aren't ...
 
we need to come to god 24/7 as the tax collector. Not as the pharisee. if we do not do this, we are in deep trouble
