I have had several men lie to me about their age so I dont really trust what people say anymore. To find out their real age I need to look at their passport or drivers licence or ask them some pointed questions about history. when they talk about what it was like growing up I get a clue if its way before my time. They expect me to understand and Im like I wasnt there, sorry.
Just because those particular several men lied to you about their ages, doesn’t necessarily mean that all the men that you will encounter in the future will lie to you about their ages.

I know a lady at church who is in a her early 60s and I think her expectations are too high...she wants a real chivalrous man (opening car doors, paying for meals, etc.) who isn't too old (80s) or has serious health issues, and takes her to trips to Paris. She also has a high sex drive. She had a early divorce and has been single/celibate for decades, and is still searching for a dream man. She is a songwriter and doesn't have any money either. I had not thought it but you are right older women are looking for leisure. So, I can see why a man in his 50s may not ready to date a woman in her 60s.

For me, it depends on the person and their level of maturity both in Christ and in character. Given those two crucial things, there are other factors to consider such as health and activity level. I enjoy being active both for fun and for maintaining a healthy body and think a sedentary person would not be happy with me pestering him to go for walks, bike rides or to the gym together.
i've been entertaining the idea of changing our birthdays to the same day, and resetting our ages.
in that case it wouldn't matter what age gap there was because we would erase it.

I grew up listening to men who all said men prefer younger women. So, I don't really trust younger men now because I believe they prefer younger women. In any case, I'm 33 and I would be fine with 30-40 range.
