  • “But to every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.” (Ephesians 4.7).

What is the limit of the gift of Christ in our lives?


  • “Give, and it shall be given to you, *good measure pressed down and shaken together and running over*, they shall give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you measure, it shall be measured to you again.” (Luke 6.38).
  • “For He whom God has sent speaks the Words of God, for *God does not give the Spirit by measure.*” (John 3:34).
  • “... You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.” (Psalms 23.5).

As you can see, the limit of the blessing of Jesus Christ isn’t in Him, but in the size of our heart (see 2Corinthians 6.11-13; Isaiah 54.2). How much of the gift of Christ are we disposed to receive?

This question may seem idiot, as the question that Jesus posed to the blind man: “What do you desire that I should do to you?” (Luke 18.41). However, are we on standby to see the suffering of the people around us, or do we go to behave as blind (passing over the needs of people)? If so, we don’t need to be healed by Jesus. It’s better to stay blind. At least, we don’t draw in the judgement of Jesus:

  • “Jesus said to them, If you were blind, you would have no sin. But now you say, We see. Therefore your sin remains.” (John 9.41).
  • “For it would have been better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness, than fully knowing it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them.” (2Peter 2.21).

So, have a magnificent day in Christ Jesus and don’t overlook people around you, for the measure of the grace (and mercy, of course) that you will receive is aimed at allowing you to stay bonded to the people that make themselves enemies of Jesus and, by consequence, of yours (Matthew 5.44,45; 6.12; 18.23-35; Psalms 23.5). In other words, Jesus forgives you so that you can be one in spirit with people around you or, if you prefer, so that you pick to go over your concepts and values to be perfectly united with boorish people, although this looks like grueling.

Remember: the true blessing of Christ isn’t things, but people.
