As Magenta has posted..the names cover Old Testament and New Testament. Jesus existed pre-incarnate with the Father and Holy Spirit. So you see the name Yahweh..Jesus being the national God of Israel.. Immanuel.. when He took on the flesh of man. God with us. Alpha and Omega as the beginner and ender of all things.

What matters is believing He is God.
That He lived sinless, died and rose again and by believing in Him you have forgiveness of sins, eternal life.

This is royal, legally binding language.

It’s like “Stop! In the name of the law.” Here, “name” infers all the authority within the stated institution: the law. Transaction between rulers were often prompted by “the name of the king”.

So, in the citations above, “name” refers to His authority.

John 3 verses 17-18 God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

1 John 5 verses 11-13 + John 6 verse 47 ~ This is that testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life.

His name? Immanuel, meaning, God with us.

Or, his Hebrew name was, Yeshua (Joshua) bin (son of) Yoseph (Joseph).

What is the name of God?

Yeshua actually means Yahwehs Salvation.

The interesting part is that in Exodus 3 we learn Yeshua is I AM, Elohim, and in Exodus 6 Yeshua is YHVH or Most High God - LORD - Yahweh.

What's fascinating is the Christophany called Himself Yahweh and then comes to earth as Yeshua or Yahweh Salvation.

This is what those two verses I posted mean by name I think. That he died for our sins was buried and rose from the dead. Both Jesus and John are speaking in general I think so, I don't know what else they would mean. I'm not exactly sure though. I think someone's name is what makes them famous? I think I have the right idea.

What a great question!
I think of it like this.
That name is Who He represents from the Scriptures.
The name of The Son of God Jesus is the Object of our faith.

For instance, I had a basic knowledge of Who He is from being raised Roman Catholic as well as attending protestant churches, Wesleyan for one.
Seeds of the Word were planted and watered throughout childhood.
I heard the Gospels taught and even attempted reading them on my own, but likely failing to complete the Entire NT. That said, the object of my faith was not Jesus, but my own good works. When I was faced with the gospel as in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, I decided to repent, not of sins, but repent/ change my mind about the Object of my faith. I realized that I was wrong about my efforts/ works and was convinced that the Person described in the gospels, Jesus Christ was the Only Savior to trust (believe).

The promise you posted from I John 5:11-13 is my guarantee of everlasting life. That is true of everyone who believes on the Name of the Son of God.

Romans 6 verse 23~ The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The message of death for sins runs throughout the Bible front to back...
