That I've had: Customer service .... you wouldn't believe how crazy adult can behave on the phone.

That I can imagine: Anything involving mathematics :p

Worst was working for my husband. We couldn't separate husband/wife and employer/employee. The worst I could imagine... working in a swine barn.

I suspect among the worst would be sewage and septic sucking services.
Worst job for the work itself?

It's a toss up between helping my uncle clean a home-construction site after the men spent the day making the skeleton of the house. (After picking up all the small pieces of wood, and concrete, plus sweeping up floors knowing there would be the same amount of sawdust the next night, we had to ride the back of the pickup to the dump. The dump STUNK and I couldn't tell which smelled worse -- me or the dump. lol)

Or the cleaning job I had. One day I was shoveling dog poop out of kennels and the next day I was cleaning the third floor of a frat house. It was August, and no a/c on that floor, so it smelled like warm, but old, urine and stale beer.

Worst job bosses wise?

Also a toss up. I was hired for a bookkeeping position in a room of bookkeepers. The rule was "no one speak to the new person," except no one told me that and I'm not good at silence for a full day, particularly when everyone around me (but one) was gabbing. I tried to be friendly, and on my last day, my boss spent 45 minutes telling me what everyone else thought of me all based on gossip because I dared to try to be friendly.

Or then there was the "Maintenance Manager" position for a property management outfit. I had quit my Assistant Maintenance Manager position for another well-known and well-run apartment management business, so I was up to the job. Except, once I was hired, I found out the bookkeeper was retiring in a week, and had to do her job. (I knew nothing of bookkeeping. Never even took a course, and suddenly people were handing me cash and checks for $600-$1000 at the beginning of the month when the rent was due. And I was supposed to know who did and who didn't do that for 600+ units.)

My boss told me he managed the maintenance staff, so don't worry about that at all. Don't even talk to them.

And then the next Monday, the real estate agent came in (before boss was there) hysterical, because she had just spent the last 72 hours straight showing apartments, so she left her resignation letter on the spot.

Sometime during that second week, someone robbed the office so much, that when I unlocked the door, I was greeted with every office phone lying in a pile. (Apparently, didn't have time to steal them too.)

Then someone robbed the maintenance supply room. The owner decided the only way in was a key and the only ones who had a key were the maintenance men. He gave them until the end of the day to turn themselves in, or he'd fire them all. He fired them all. And then the next week, with no maintenance men, someone robbed that room again. Ends up whoever broke in, broke through a grate that only a very small person could fit through. So, he hired back whoever wanted to come back. (Not all did.)

I was overwhelmed, since I also had to answer the phones and couldn't tell anyone we could fix anything or what to do about their late rent, or even what to do because the owner hadn't paid his electric bill for all of the (600+) units in the last three months. (He owed $50,000 to the electric company.) So three weeks into the job, I gave my two-weeks notice.

And, as the last act on the last night, I also had to run a mile, in the rain over to the electric company before 4 PM to stop them from shutting electricity down to 600+ tenants. (Years later, when we moved into the city, I discovered the electric company will never turn off electricity after 4 PM on a Friday night, because they're work day is over too. Yeesh! I was naive. lol)

Scariest job?
I was a social worker for a runaway/throwaway shelter charged with counseling a walk-in. She was a teen girl who had been raped four different times by four different men. The only training I had was experience on how I was counseled when I was raped. (How stupid/dangerous was that non-profit? And how dumb was I to think I could do it?) She was suicidal, and it ended with her running out. They didn't get names, addresses or phone numbers for anyone, so couldn't even call her to see if she was okay.

I quit the job shortly after that, and got married. Four months after she ran out, an old coworker called me to tell me she had returned. I spent four months fearful I had pushed her over the edge.

When I learned I'm no social worker.

There are a lot of ways jobs can be "worst."

Working any job in a corrupt community that make their own law has got to be the worst, actually just living in a community that make their own law is horrific.

I just did landscaping for 12 hrs a day which was kinda tough probably the toughest job that I ever done.

But it was made unbearable by the supervisors that would take advantage of their position and treat us however they want.

Sometimes they would literally push us out of the way to do something? Well anywhere else that would be illegal,at the work place especially, supervisor ain't supposed to be touching nobody.

Not here though,it ain't the job though it's the place, because they make their own law here , people everywhere rude because they can be.

If you filed some kinda complaint somewhere?they all stand up for each other and lie.

I hate corruption the most.

I once temporarily (about 1 month) had a job in which I had to shovel soy beans back up onto a conveyer belt. It was hot, dusty, dirty work, not to mention the smell and loud noise.

Also, working in a hay field for one summer when I was a teenager was no picnic either!

The very worst job I had was working at a fast food place because the manager was horrible. He would harass the employees, and he was also very stingy. It was a chicken place, and his mantra was "if it falls on the floor, pick it up". He'd tell us to give the customers only one napkin per customer in the car (even if they were buying a whole family meal!). The work was not bad, but the manager was.

Worst I ever had was my time in the military.

Worst I can imagine, basing this of course on how difficult it would be for me with my personality : Customer Service

I've never had a job that was really horrible. I've worked with some people that I'm not so sure about their mental well being, but I usually just do my job and go home. I did work as a cashier at this auto parts store for a while. I didn't need to know anything about auto parts, I just had to run the cash register. I was 22 and was hit on a lot, it made me really uncomfortable. One guy in particular was quite a bit older than me and didn't get the hint that I wasn't interested, he kept giving me his business card and he asked one of my co workers questions about me. That whole thing freaked me out so I found a job as a waitress and got out of there.
