It doesn't have thorns though. :)
Passion has it's dangers.

The more passion one has for the Lord the more our adversary hurls the fiery darts.

Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

For the cause of Christ
Roger

fredoheaven;

Okay, but you are only giving me verses with no chapters and books.

sorry..lk24...mt11

Is this the way you are trying to reveal truths?
no it is showing you what God does...did you notice the actions of God?
Yes it seems you have many verses for what?
friend..it looks like it went right over your head...

What’s the purpose of having bold and glaring colour red/blue verses?

That was so you would not possibly miss what I was emphasizing...and yet ...you did!
I don’t see any relevance on the topic on hand for it can be easily be done the same to anyone including you.

Looks as if you are trying not to see it friend...let me show it by listing Gods actions from just these verses....
1]
for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

2]Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

3]And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
and again;
4]Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

5]
I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

If you cannot see this... I cannot help you my friend.

these verses show one truth...all spiritual truth is revealed by God....

I've listened to this in the past. The refutation White offers is spot on.

I knew I had heard this sermon years ago...Dr. White destroys his false pronouncements...My wife and I are going over this again, just to see how ridiculous A.R. and others are who repeat such anti biblical ideas...

If any would simply listen with open bibles they could see , but how many will listen...?

I have no problem with T or P.

U I have strong reservations about but I do not challenge God's sovereignty.
L I reject completely
I I find highly questionable

So, at 40% of doctrinal agreement, I am not a calvinist

T = total depravity
U = unconditional election
L = limited atonement
I = irresistible grace
P - perseverance of saints

I am not a Calvinist either: I am sure others can explain what these five points mean

The first part of the acronym, "total depravity".
Where did that come from?

The first Adam is a Living Soul, The Second Adam is Life giving Spirit.
Kinda like Paul said.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) all of TULIP stands or falls together. Neither T nor P are found in Scripture, but are the inventions of men.

Let's take P. Scripture says that the saints are "kept by the power of God" so the P should be "power of God" not "perseverance of the saints".

As for T, I have shown elsewhere how utterly false it is when compared to what the Bible reveals. All humans beings are not continually and totally evil, and totally unable to respond to the Gospel under the power of the Gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit. And all human beings have a conscience, which does cause many to do right, even though they are not saved. God tells us that they are regulated by "the Law" which is within their conscience.

Christians need to see what is actually stated in the Calvinist confessions of faith, not what Calvinists "think" is stated.

You can thank Augustine of Hippo for these warped ideas.
I didnt hear total depravity here. The label itself is offensive, imputing obscenity. This sort of language should never be mixed with ministry.
Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

sin is measured by the hardness of ones heart.

Romans 2King James Version (KJV)

2 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?

5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

yeah I'd be interested in that

after my 'conversation' yesterday in which a Calvinist interpreted the 'blood of the covenant' as the blood of animal sacrifice, (Hebrews) I was surprised to read the commentary on that verse by Calvin himself in which he said nothing of the sort.

so now I'm like, just how badly is he being representetd here?

mind you, the bottom line seems to be the predestined chosen only and you have no choice, but I do not think we are getting a clear picture from the adherents

I can certainly agree with this though ^^^^

Even the Historic Baptist position, Baptist Historian Armitage considers the Calvinistic Baptist position as minority. Baptist position is biblical-historical position. The view of 85% of non-Calvinistic churches is a true position against 15% with Calvinistic position.

“By 1643 the Calvinistic Baptist Churches in and about London had increased to seven, while the non-Calvinistic Churches numbered thirty-nine, forty-six in all.”

Thankyou for the post.
And even paul spoke of this.

I wonder if this tulip thing is merely an internet fabrication
