Has anyone considered the definition of 'Gall' and of 'Wormwood'?
Deu 29:18 LestH6435 there should beH3426 among you man,H376 orH176 woman,H802 orH176 family,H4940 orH176 tribe,H7626 whoseH834 heartH3824 turneth awayH6437 this dayH3117 fromH4480 H5973 the LORDH3068 our God,H430 to goH1980 and serveH5647 (H853) the godsH430 of theseH1992 nations;H1471 lestH6435 there should beH3426 among you a rootH8328 that bearethH6509 gallH7219 and wormwood;H3939
H7219
רושׁ ראשׁ
rô'sh rôsh
roshe, roshe
Apparently the same as H7218; a poisonous plant, probably the poppy (from its conspicuous head); generally poison (even of serpents): - gall, hemlock, posion, venom.
Notice that 'Gall' as defined above by the Strong's Concordance is 'Poppy'?
Poppy is the plant that produces narcotics which result in extreme drug addiction.
H3939
לענה
la‛ănâh
lah-an-aw'
From an unused root supposed to mean to curse; wormwood (regarded as poisonous, and therefore accursed): - hemlock, wormwood.
Wormwood in Revelation means bitterness, but in this case in Deuteronomy it means curse.
Do you know anyone that is cursed with being hooked on drugs such as the poppy (narcotics)?
Just a thought for you to consider.
