I've been thinking an awful lot about music today, and how different types make me feel when I listen to them. Contemporary Christian music rarely does anything for me, occasionally I find a song that does but most of it does not, but sitting down listening to a Choir or someone sing an old time hymn really just lifts me up. I just feel compelled to sing, sometimes it causes me to just drop to my knees and pray mid-song, and lift my hands even when just sitting in my home listening to it, swaying to the music (my version of dancing.).

Music has always been a HUGE aspect of my life. Even before I became a Christian and realized that the purpose of music was for worship. Upon becoming a Christian though, I was immediately introduced to bands like Casting Crowns, Big Daddy Weave, Crowder, Chris Tomlin the staples of Contemporary Christian, and I found many songs I enjoyed listening to, but I never really felt that connection. Upon listening to people like Jessy Dixon though, I immediately began to feel that connection with God. And I almost completely dropped the Contemporary Christian that had once consumed my life.

Anyway, old time hymns, and singers such as Jessy Dixon, Jimmy Swaggart, and Janet Paschal really hit the spot for me. I think I've already posted some songs here, but felt the need to go in to a little more depth.

This is sweet, her lyrics are so true! as it takes more than just having faith to be accounted worthy it takes action, obedience and it is pointless in spending all our energy seeking out signs of the end times if we don't repent and turn from sin. Great song!

Aao masih ke paas
Aao masih ke paas, ki ab wo bula raha - 2
Tauba karo gunah se, Wo lahu baha raha - 2
Dar dar ho kyon bhatakte, jeevan ki rah per
Ek baar aake dekho, yeshu ki baah me
Kitna bhi ho andhera - 2
Jyoti dene tumhe
Ab wo bula raha - 2
Toda hai her kisi ne, tumhare vishwas ko
Shayad sabhi kuch pa ker, khoya hai aas ko
Kitni ho na umiidi - 2
Aasha dene tumhe
Ab wo bula raha - 2
Dhoop aur chaw hai zindagi, lamba hai ye safar
Saya bhi saath chodta, yeshu hai humsafar
Kitni kathin ho rahen - 2
Manzil dene tumhe
Ab wo bula raha - 2

Come to Christ
Come to Christ, now he's calling - 2
Do excused himself from sin, he is shedding blood - 2
Why wandering rates, longer life
Come and see once, in Christ's arm is
much too dark - 2
to flame you,
now he's calling - 2
Not everyone is broken, your faith
has probably lost all hope to find some do
not get how Umidi - 2,
you give up hope
now she's calling - 2
The sun and shade to prolong the life journey
overshadow Christ draws us along the journey
will be much harder - 2nd
floor you have to
call it now - 2

This is too good not to repeat. I heard Bill and Jessy talking about this song on another video. It was filmed in ISRAEL, so the song "Moses Take Your Shoes Off", seemed very appropriate to sing, and it was a big hit at that Concert.
